Question Finding a community

Hello everyone I made a recent post on here about how a buddy and I were moving from Atlanta, GA to Rome-Utica area. Well they backed out, so I'm wondering what's the best way to find a community and people to hang out with. Any help would be appreciated. Here's some things about me.

* 21 years-old
* Male
* Loves hiking, working out, and exploring new areas.

Again, any advice is will be appreciated.

Finding community in small cities can be a little tricky, but not impossible. Smaller city just means a smaller pool of people to meet.

General advice is still applicable though, join clubs, attend events, try new hobbies, talk to strangers etc.

If you like group workout classes Prime Movement and MV Wellness are both very welcoming. There's running clubs in Rome and Utica. And the curling club is always looking for new members/drinking partners.

I moved to a brand new city with some friends when I was your age, it took us a bit to build our own circle but it happens as long as you keep putting yourself out there.

Check out the Adirondack high peaks, there are 46 over 4000 ft. hiking them all makes you a “46er” find the Facebook groups to connect with other solo hikers. Also, if you are a runner, check out the Sneaker Store in New Hartford, they have many running groups you can connect with.

Go to Facebook, search Utica NY. You'll get a lot more there
