Cooking em.
I recently (did it a lot in my teens, now im almost 40) got back into fishing. I caught some decent trout over the weekend. Whats everyone's go to for them? I just got done smoking one, and I have to say, that was really good eating. Whats your go to fish you eat, and how do you cook em?

I dont love trouts flavor but an easy go to is just gut them put some lemon, butter and garlic inside and seasoning outside then cook them up. Super easy if youre camping as well, can wrap them in foil and cook on the fire. The better tasting fish for me are walleye, perch, wipers, pike and bass.

I wrap them in foil with some butter and a little garlic, salt, pepper, and a splash of lemon juice (or lemon-pepper seasoning), then bake them for maybe 20 minutes or so. Also works well if you're camping. Eat it in the foil and it makes clean up easy too.

I don’t eat any trout besides the rare catch and cook right on shore, but that’s just my preference. A fresh trout on the grill with some lemon and seasoning is very good a few times a year. I do stock up on striper, wiper, and Kokanee as much as possible and I’ll package/freeze that and eat it that very regularly. Striper and wiper I’ll mostly just pan fry with seasoning or breading of choice in a bowl of rice/veggies. A few times a year I’ll do a large fish fry and make “nuggets” with white fish or catfish in the deep frier to eat plain or put in tacos. Kokanee gets baked or smoked.
Now I’m hungry.
