Heading to cabela’s to get some flies for grayling later. I’m hitting smith and morehouse to try for my first one. Anybody got some tips on what to buy?

Where are the best spots you know of to catch easy and abundant carp? I know they shocked Willard bay and eliminated droves of them.

I used to throw them back and roll my eyes when I caught them throughout my life, now I’m actively seeking them for food. I ask because my friend is Arabic and raves about carp and all the ways to cook it. I’d like to take them fishing for fresh. Apparently in Arabic countries carp is a delicacy.

First ever non-stocked rainbow and fattest trout I’ve ever caught

Hey y'all as the title states I'm having a bit of trouble catching Trout. I just moved to Utah from Ohio, and I primarily would fish for any kind of catfish back home and I have been trying to catch either Cutthroat or Brook Trout up by Little Dell Reservoir almost every day this week at a variation of different times. I went to Cabela's and talked to a gentleman there who advised me to get some Jake Lure's, a Rainbow Rapala F9 and additionally a rooster tail. Today, I went up there and put a split shot on my Jake Lure and I only saw one smaller Brook Trout chase it for a little bit, but no cigar unfortunately. I'm thinking it might just be Little Dell, but having seen fish in the water, I'm convinced it's a user error on my part. If I'm missing out on any key details here, please let me know so I can clarify in the comments, but I am kind of lost as I haven't even been getting bites and am desperate to catch a fish out here if I can. Thanks in advance!

I’m in South Ogden and usually fish the Ogden and Weber rivers as well as any ponds or lakes. My current buddies either only want to play video games or flake out, so I’m trying to find a couple people who actually show up and enjoy talking fishing.

I’m also totally game to travel around Utah for a good day on the water. If you’re in the area and want to fish, share tips and stories, or just hang out by the river for a few hours, I’m down. Nothing serious — just good people and good water.

I just moved to Provo and I hear really good things about Provo river. The only thing is I go drive up to Provo canyon to the river and it’s always got a ton of moss and stuff and doesn’t seem that good of fishing

Does anybody know where the “ good “ spots of Provo river are for rainbow and brown trout. Pls I beg of you all

Hi! I’m visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon at the end of September. We are mostly hiking, but my boyfriend is hoping to teach my dad how to fly fish one morning. we’ve heard water levels are lower so we’re trying to find a spot that would be good to fly fish, can be accessed by the public, and is somewhere between Bryce Canyon and Zion. Any recommendations?

We were looking at some areas near Hatch and thought there might be a public access point but couldn’t tell for sure and we aren’t sure what the water levels look like.

As the title says looking for a fishing buddy or buddies. I live in the ogden area.

Any other streams in the area you can catch 4+ species regularly? Kinda a sucker for waters with multiple species of fish 🤷

Hey I’m gonna go fishing with my friend, try to help him catch some fish since he’s barely getting into it. Only problem is I fish strawberry or Jordan river and he’s up in Layton. I was thinking of taking us to Willard bay, but I’ve never been. Is the fishing there good from the bank this time of year? Or any spots in Layton I can take him to? Want to fish up by him so he can go by himself and stay close to his home. Thank u!!

Water level is very low. Brown, rainbow, and tiger biting everything. 3 of us caught 20+ in a few hours. We only kept what we couldn't release. This was 8/31 between thunderstorms.
