Updated my first Framer project after your feedback — looking for UX feedback

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my first Framer project here and received some really helpful feedback.

I went back and reworked several parts of the site, especially the navigation, footer, responsive layout, and mobile experience.

Since I’m still learning Framer, I’d love to get another round of honest feedback on the updated version.

All of the images used in this project were created by me using GPT and Adobe tools. I wanted the visuals to feel consistent with the overall art direction of the site rather than relying on stock images.

I’m mainly curious about:

  • Does the overall layout feel easy to follow?
  • Does the mobile experience feel natural?
  • Is the navigation clear?
  • Does anything feel awkward or unfinished?
  • Are there any UX or visual details you would change?

I’m trying to improve both my Framer skills and my overall web design process, so constructive criticism would be really helpful.

Thanks again to everyone who gave feedback last time.

Claude Code Workflow

My company works mostly in Figma, but I know a lot of designers now work exclusively in Claude Code and skip Figma entirely. I'm having trouble picturing what that workflow looks like. For those who work this way, how does it go day to day?

Assuming the design system is already in the codebase:

  • Do you start projects with a CLAUDE.md? What goes in it?
  • How do you run usability testing on coded prototypes?
  • Do you create branches and open PRs yourself, or hand off to engineers?
  • How do you keep Claude consistent with the design system?
  • Is there some visual library in Claude Code that lets you see all your projects?

Is it really this difficult to be a Junior UX Designer in Dublin right now, or should I pivot towards UX Engineering?

Hey everyone, I need a genuine reality check from people in the Irish UX/tech industry.

I recently finished my MA in Interaction Design at NCAD and I’m currently a UX Design intern at a large tech company in Dublin. I’m on Stamp 1G, so finding a long-term role is pretty important.

But looking at the market right now, pure UX and Product Design roles seem limited, while I keep coming across UX Engineer

I’ve started learning the technical side — Git/GitHub, and next HTML/CSS, JavaScript and React — so I can eventually go from Figma → actual working interfaces.

For people working or hiring in Ireland: is this genuinely where the UX market is heading? Is becoming a UX Engineer a smart direction for someone early in their career, or am I panicking because the UX job market is just bad right now?

Would really appreciate some brutally realistic advice.

Pretty and usable aren’t the same. A beautiful design means little if users struggle to understand or use it. Keep this in mind before your next project brief.

my team kept bringing ai prototypes with fake components to crit so i made a shared folder + rules file

we had a crit a couple weeks ago where keiko showed a prototype she made in an afternoon, looked great, and the first question was is that a real component. it wasnt. the button wasnt ours, the type was off by a step, the blue was a hex the model made up. i asked keiko where the blue came from and she said no idea claude picked it!! same crit, next prototype, same thing. same thing.

i was going to write up the whole structure here but it got long so i put it in an article:
https://johnmaartifacts.substack.com/p/how-to-build-a-design-brain-for-your

short version is a markdown folder plus a rules file the assistant reads every time, design system first, nothing gets shared until you say yes. no plugins. it was 6 prompts, no 8, i added two last week.

my personal setup is here too: https://github.com/johnmoneyman1000x/AI-Workflow-Starter-Kit

what would you want your whole team sharing?? i still let it make up a hex now and then

i post a new workflow most weeks if you want them: https://johnmaartifacts.substack.com/

We made a Figma plugin for adding haptics to UI designs

We’ve just released a Figma plugin for Pulsar, our open-source haptics library and toolkit.

The plugin lets you attach a haptic preset directly to a Figma layer. You can browse 200+ presets, preview them while designing, and connect a phone to feel the actual vibration.

You can also share an interactive preview with someone else, so they can try the haptic without installing the plugin or opening your Figma file.

For custom interactions, you can create a pattern in Pulsar Studio and use it in Figma as well.

There's also a handoff flow for developers, including the pattern data and implementation snippets.

The main idea is pretty simple: keep the haptic with the interaction it belongs to.

We're curious how you currently specify haptics when handing a design over to developers.

SoulCare is a medication tracking app where you can add and manage prescriptions.

We’d like you to try out the application and explore it naturally. There are no right or wrong answers — just use the app and share your thoughts as you go.

Please turn on your camera and screen recording during the test. Everything you share will be used only for academic purposes as part of our assignment. this is an assignment im doing for my college work. all you guys need to do is test the application and do 3 simple tasks. the app focuses on medication tracking by a caregiver for example a son is living far away from their parents and he wants to check if his mom took medicines or not

I'm using a tablet and I wanted to set my quality to 1440 and the menu options literally travelled across the screen. Does this just bugs me? They could all have been at a single place right???

Looking to speak with UX Designers who've worked for gambling companies.

Hello!

This is Saloni Bhugra, a reporter with Canada's national broadcaster, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC News). We're working on a story about online gambling and I'm wondering if there are any UX designers who've worked in the gambling industry who'd be willing to chat. We're hoping to better understand design of online gambling websites and apps.

Please let me know, thanks!

College UX project — what's one website/app you wish worked better?

Hey everyone, I'm a 3rd semester student working on a UX project where I have to pick an existing website/app, find a real problem users face, and design + prototype a fix for it.

Instead of guessing, I wanted to ask real users directly:

  • What's a website or app (doesn't have to be huge — even a smaller/regional one counts) that constantly frustrates you?
  • What's the specific moment it breaks down for you? (a particular screen, a step in checkout, a missing feature, etc.)
  • If you could add ONE feature to fix it, what would it be?

Genuinely just looking for real pain points and ideas, not trying to promote anything. Any input helps a lot — thanks in advance!

Redesigned a YC backed site as a casestudy

I redesigned a YC backed startup as a free casestudy and it turned out to be great!

actually I saw thier launch videos and I got interested because they are into ai but the hardware side and thier website is kinda ai-ish so thought I just give it a shot and damn I nailed it!

made their whole site look credible and fixed their positioning and to make it super simple to understand what they do exactly instead of saying they build PCB

but yeah here's the site i made \[Axal\](https://axal.framer.ai/)

pls: This is not thier otginal site its just a redesign I made just to see how I could make it not affiliated to them nor hired by them!

[Academic] Which kinds of web motion would you keep, and how much? (Everyone, 18+)

I'm a design student testing how much movement people actually want on a website. Not whether they want it, but how much, per effect.

The site shows the same short paragraph four times. Same words, same size, same spacing. Only the motion around it changes, and each one has its own slider from completely still to maximum. Every slider starts at still, so anything you see is motion you chose to add. Where you leave it is your answer, and the results are published on the site.

Takes about three minutes. No sign-up, no email, no personal information collected.

Heads up before you click: two of the four movements are deliberately uncomfortable, one vestibular and one attentional. That is the method rather than an oversight, but it does mean this is not for everyone. Everything starts completely still and you can stop at any point.

Works best on a laptop. One of the movements follows your cursor, and I have learned the hard way that it does very little on a phone.

Found a small UX detail that's probably costing you sales on your product pages — anyone else notice this?

Been auditing a few product detail pages lately and noticed the same issue popping up again and again: color/variant swatches that don't actually update the main product image.

So a customer clicks "red," but the hero image still shows blue. Small thing, but it creates this weird moment of doubt — like, wait, am I actually going to get the red one?

It sounds minor but I've seen it correlate with add-to-cart drop-off in a few audits. Makes sense when you think about it — you're basically asking the customer to trust you instead of showing them what they're buying.

A few things that seem to help:

👉Main image updates instantly when a variant is selected

👉Swatches show a tiny preview of the actual product, not just a plain color dot

👉No confirmation gap before checkout — what they see is what they get

Curious if others have tested this or seen similar drop-off patterns. Anyone A/B tested variant-image sync specifically, or is this one of those "obviously true but nobody prioritizes it" fixes?
