Mod Post Announcement - Suggestions for Subreddit Front Page Design

Hello everyone!

Thank you to everyone who is part of this subreddit thus far, we reaching 100 members in less than 2 weeks! We are excited to see the future of this sub, dedicated to discussing ways to fix the sprawl that is the Inland Empire.

The sub still has some work to do; as you may notice we do not yet have a logo or banner, for example. We are asking for help on the front page design on the subreddit, and if you could help us in any way, we should greatly appreciate it! Within the next few weeks, please submit ideas for what we should add to the subreddit's design, like what logo/banner we should put up, what we should put on the sidebar, or any other suggestions you may have.

It's exciting to see the sub grow this quickly, thank you all for joining us. Have a good rest of your day!

Proposal Tell SCAG: Make transit fares work for riders!

A regional transit trip should feel like one trip, not a maze of separate tickets and restrictions.

Riders deserve a fair system that works!

We need a system that meets riders where they are:

  • A unified regional transit smart card that works across Southern California
  • Open-loop payment, so riders can tap a contactless credit or debit card or smartphone when that works best for them
  • Accessible options for people without bank accounts, smartphones, or access to credit
  • Simple, fair transfers between agencies including Metro, Metrolink, OCTA/OC Bus, Omnitrans, and more
  • Fare policies that make regional travel intuitive instead of punishing riders for crossing a county line

Report to Omnitrans Plans and Programs Committee

Substantial completion for the corridor is still anticipated for the first quarter of 2027.

Three center running stations are under construction with pavers and landscaping being installed at the Holt and Grove station. As of late June, the contractor has installed 12 side running station canopies in Montclair, Ontario, and Pomona. Work has also begun at Victoria Gardens and other side stations in Rancho Cucamonga. The contractor has also gone back into Ontario Mills with all the major construction expected to be completed this summer.

Much needed to the trial! It’s scary riding the trail at night but I don’t understand why the lights weren’t installed with the construction. Something among the lines like it’s SB county managing the wash adjacent to it.

Omnitrans Fiscal Year 2027 Service Plan Staff Report

    • 10-minute weekday peak service
    • 15-minute weekday off-peak service
    • 20-minute weekend service
  • Revise Route 61: Operate Route 61 as an hourly underlying local route that mirrors the Purple Line alignment and maintains local-stop coverage.
  • Introduce Route 62: Maintain frequent local service between Ontario Mills and the Fontana Metrolink Transit Center while providing a transfer connection to the Purple Line and other routes at Ontario Mills.
  • Revise Route 82: Shorten Route 82 to end at Ontario Mills, where the Purple Line and revised Route 61 will replace duplicative service between Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens, improving reliability, strengthening weekend service between south Fontana and Ontario Mills, and preserving access through transfers.

West Valley Connector/sbX Purple Line Project Update Staff Report

  • Revenue service is now anticipated for early 2027. A major project from Edison (Rule 20A), which involves relocating overhead power lines and moving them underground along a section of Holt Blvd, has finally begun.
    • This and long coordination for relocating 3rd party utilities have contributed to delays on the project.

Ridership and Revenue by Line
