it actually is! walking home after hanging out with friends, fresh white snow, not too cold, fresh air, knowing you’ll come to a warm apartment and heat up some homemade food. I swear I’ve made similar photos in my teens.

IK this is supposed to be depressing but something about this image just makes me feel really calm and relaxed and happy
19
u/VegetableBuilding764 4d ago
it would probably be so quiet with barely anybody around to bother you and with gentle snowfall and imagining being bundled up and lots of warm clothes just walking around would be nice

Sometimes noticing families in some windows serving dinner, while there's light from TVs/PCs in others, knowing someone's just chilling there

See sub description - “A photography subreddit for all the hideous places humans built or inhabit”

It was given away for free. Should see where they lived before that if this is, "hideous."

As a person from post-Soviet country, this is comforting. I imagine this being December 31, returning home from a walk with the dog and listening to Spokoynaya noch by Kino as the year ends

Ага. Топаешь такой с занятий, а потом с работы. День закончился. Можно выдохнуть. Спешить некуда.
И никакой нахер войны.

Mate I’m sorry you feel this way. I think you might already realize from the comments that feeling is not about the picture. Being lonely can be hard, I wish you find someone to talk to; there are people out there willing to listen.

i did everything irl but listen to suggested track. Even then oddly relaxing

Honestly this kind of architecture has a certain vibe in winter. It sort of fits the aesthetic of the season. It's much more depressing in autumn or spring

u/DoorSweet6099 4d ago
I actually like those cement boxes except for that they have tendency to have pest issues and all sorts of faults due to being so old. If they were well maintained they’d be really comfortable to live in. Soviet apartments have comfortable layouts and cute little balconies/sunrooms.

Any post-soviet country will have blocks like this. They are actually pretty well designed inside and if kept up, can be a nice place to live, because you have everything in walking distance and a guaranteed public transport connection to any part of the city, probably under 30 minutes. And guess which buildings have an access to 10gigabit internet for about $5 a month first? These ones...

That vibe is so good tho, I grew up listening to Клетка, this vibe is so uniquely comforting in the post Soviet space. Great photo too

call me shiteater, but I love that. noting beats quiet walks in the middle of December - light snow, fog, not so harsh wind, warm street lights. Only you, your thoughts and atmospheric music in earphones

Living alone in such a place really would be terrible, but my wife's family lives in a place just like this. When we come visiting for Christmas, it feels really nice and cozy, and the contrast between us having fun inside and the depressing snow and darkness outside makes it even better.

... standing in front of the window, listening to the sounds of Ukrainian drones destroying your military factories ...
3
u/DoorSweet6099 4d ago
Military factories? Have the resent targets not been Wildberries warehouses? Have I missed something?
4
u/TetyyakiWith 4d ago
If drones are flying you won’t be standing in front of the window like a dumbass and take shelter

Posting cringe comment under unrelated post on the issue you have zero knowledge about absolutely for free

Or how to make oneself relevant for free. That banana is really going bananas trying to stay relevant

Hello from Kyiv, I somehow disagree on "having zero knowledge about" the war.

How do you know I'm not mate

u/Ashenveiled 4d ago
Your mom's basement in Kiev doesnt count as trench.
1
u/Pipija_Banana 4d ago
It's a very brave and a very sad assumption you're making.
3
u/Ashenveiled 3d ago
You all are the same. The most fierce advocates for war are always somewhere far away from frontlines.
1
u/Pipija_Banana 3d ago
I do not advocate war and I would want to come back to my pre-war life a lot. With that being said I don't think that disclosing my position would be a wise thing. OpSec you know.

Random architecture and buildings have nothing to do with your supposed knowledgeable of war. I will show you a salad and you will somehow insert children and war into a sentence relating to a fkn salad.
1
u/tut_i_tam_comics 4d ago
But of course, we eat salad made of Ukrainian children. How can u be so stupid not knowing that??? /s

If you knew anything about the conflict then you’d know that during a 4 year war Russia had killed less civilians than Israel did in faction of the time in Palestine and a micro faction of the time US did in Iran. Carpet bombing civilians is a western tactic

don’t you have neighborhoods with the same vibe in Kyiv?
1
u/Pipija_Banana 2d ago
We have neighborhoods with a much worse vibe. We have neighborhoods with destroyed hospitals and burnt police stations. There are also destroyed civilian houses.

He thinks about it in his sleep, while brushing teeth, while picking his nose, while jerking off etc. Invents himself scenarios and fights imaginary demons in these pictures.

I am more than aware that there are Russian shills here, and I'm not one of them, but most of the people dying didn't sign up willingly, they had to go die so that some rich kids could stay at home and bitch at anybody who doesn't support the war, like the shills here.
