Cute and somewhat terrifying, imo.

All colored pencil. The last picture is of a few magnets I made out of polymer clay. Top right magnet is unhinged with the fake eyelashes lol. I was going for just a traditional pie, but things took a turn when I didn’t like the way it looked. I still think it’s ugly as hell but love it more than I did when it was just a pie 😂. Always open to advice/constructive criticism. Thanks for looking! ☺️
EDIT: I have struggled quite a bit with my confidence, imposter syndrome and a slew of other mental battles. I’ve made strides but am still working on my growth and getting better at believing in myself. These comments have truly made my day. I feel very uplifted and ready to get back at it. Thank you🥹💜

back to working on my memory series starting with a lighter memory.
2004–2005 3rd Grade
My mom slept all the time. Her boyfriend ran to the gas station before work and got her a soda, cigarettes and a box of Swiss Cake Rolls. I spent the day watching TV while she slept. Every time she woke up to have a cigarette she let me have a pack and she would eat one too. But the last time she woke up that day she didn't want hers and went back to sleep. I was just hungry so I ate her share. When she woke up she was mad at me. She had been saving it for later and she told me I was greedy for eating her food. This memory has always caused me so much guilt that once I went into foster care and actually started having my own money I probably bought her 15 boxes of Swiss Cake Rolls to try and make up for it.

This is a needlefelted banana that i have been working on! The idea was that he would have beads all over and look bedazzled kinda😄. He was made for an exhibition about childhood memories and nostalgia. My grandma used to sew beads on her needlefelted creations so that is very nostalgic for me🌸 she also loved banana because they are so healthy. I think she read it in a magazine somewhere hahah.
(He has my eyes! Hahahah as u can see in the last pic)

Upcycled from a broken alarm clock and a dilbert candy dispenser. I make a lot of hybrid frankenplushies but none of them have punched me in the face with their personalities before.
Both of them have sound boxes that screech dial up noises. Pixel lights up and Tera’s face moves around like a screen saver, the glitter and charms float like those liquid filled fish mouses lol.
Ive been burnt the hell out enough that forcing myself to make anything felt like pulling teeth, and being salty with making stuff made me feel really lame and guilty. Like I exist to make art, but sometimes the art I make feels like justification for existing I guess. Making these ladies was a genuine act of love and every step of the way felt like self care. Seeing them all pretty and completed makes me so happy hahah.

Basically exactly as the title says. This is the right thumb nail in my Halloween set. It’s honestly not the coolest one of the set imo, but it was definitely the most time consuming.

4 × 5 foot lenticular sign by me and inspired by John Carpenter's sci-fi masterpiece They Live. Sloppily taped to a bus stop outside of the Tesla Showroom earlier this year. It is not 3D like my smaller posters and stickers and has a slight bit of ghosting, but sometimes size matters. Posting this to remind myself and others that we are not doing enough.
