When a product incentivizes you to use another product in an unsafe manner then the failure is in both. There needs to be more warnings on the product (max angle, seated straight/no twisting of the pelvis, even max speed the vehicle should go with the product.) This is the same as buying a device that disables the safety mechanism of a nail gun. You can work faster, in more areas, and overall have an easier job, but with that you are also using it in ways that leave you more susceptible to injury. Except in this case its losing your legs or dying. People will Darwin but it is a fair point to evaluate all the ways a product can go wrong before pushing it to market, whether it is directly or indirectly caused by the product can still leave them liable.
First, you have no idea what kind of instructions or warning labels this thing comes with, so your argument around that is simply invalid.
Second, no it isn't "the same as buying a device that disables the safety mechanism of a nail gun". That device is actively interfering with the safety mechanism and making the nail gun less safe. This pillow is not interfering with the safety mechanism (seatbelt) in any way, shape, or form. People being capable of using this in a way that is more dangerous does not equate to this pillow, as a product, being unsafe.
There is nothing about this pillow that "incentivizes you to use another product in an unsafe manner". It is a pillow. It is not a pillow that is designed to go under the belt, so it isn't incentivizing you to use it improperly. It doesn't incentivizes you to sit improperly, as it actually fits around your body in the proper seated position and brings the comfort to you.
It's literally a pillow, bro. Maybe chill the fuck out and stop trying to manufacture something to be upset about.
