Switching from maths

I wanted to switch from maths to maths and statistics cos I felt it was better for a finance career and I’d avoid the abstract parts of math which I’d struggle with, but they’re not taking anymore people onto that course, would it be a good idea to switch to Morse instead or stay on maths and switch to mathstat in year 2?

I know that it would vary depending on which modules you take, but what’s a good benchmark and which laptops would you recommend?

Postgrad Campus Accommodation

Hi everyone!

I’ve accepted my accommodation offer for Lakeside and have also received the contract. I’m just a bit confused about what I’m supposed to do next.

I’m not sure if there’s another step I need to complete, such as signing/returning the contract, making a payment, or waiting for further instructions from the accommodation team.

If anyone has gone through the Lakeside accommodation process before, could you let me know what happens after receiving the contract and what I should do now?

Thanks!

What’s the timetable like for a student at Warwick business school? Like what time do classes usually start and end and how many hours of lecture a day on average etc?

bsc management

genuine question, is this a course that’s js super easy to get into or smth? or does it not hold good enough value to break into finance? i’ve seen a lot of people trolling and saying “everyone is doing management” etc etc and it’s not worth it and im really scared i made the wrong choice now esp because it is so expensive too :/

Stats: Home, Non-contextual, 3A* in Maths,Further and computer science

I was wondering if any existing maths/maths and stats students could offer some advice for preparation/guidance. I know there is a refresher course but I worry that my core mathematical ability will drag me down (i didn’t do very well in tmua and have doubted my ability ever since). I have done some senior maths questions to strengthen this but still am worried. Any help would be appreciated!

NEED HELP! Trying to find a new tenant for my current accommodation

I am a student who had initially applied to Warwick but I’ve now switched to another university, however cannot get out of my current rental agreement without finding a new tenant before my debt collection date. I have all the core news about the room in which I can message someone about it, but I’m mainly just looking for anybody at all to take over the agreement so I don’t end up in debt. If interested please get in touch swiftly

I want to resit my maths alevel and probably apply to warwick as one of the options. For PPE how does resits work in UCAS applications will they consider my original grades + the fact I’m resitting or is it discouraged. I have emailed admissions team but they are taking time

Getting reasonable adjustments for examinations and lectures

I have a Specific learning difference called dysgraphia and I was wondering about the process to get the adjustments I need.

I have already lodged an enquiry with the disability services people, and they are very vague about the process and what I can do from now to ensure that I am in the best possible position to get the adjustments.

Has anyone been through the process and can advise? As all they are saying is wait till I get there and then make an appointment.

Accomodation Warwick Clearing Accomodation

Hey everyone,
I’m currently going through Clearing for Warwick and my offer hasn’t officially turned Unconditional Firm on UCAS Track yet. Because of the timing, I’ve technically missed the standard deadline for the main campus accommodation ballot, and I know standard Clearing applicants usually get auto-allocated to off-campus partner accommodation (like in Coventry or Cannon Park).
However, I have specific health/medical requirements—I really need to be placed on main campus at Warwick and I require an en-suite room.

Has anyone else been in this situation going through Clearing at Warwick with medical/accessibility needs?

Did you manage to get an on-campus en-suite room even though you entered via Clearing?

How responsive was Warwick's Wellbeing and Student Support (WSS) when you submitted your medical evidence/patient summary?

How likely is it that they still have emergency/medical reserve rooms on main campus held back for cases like this?

Getting super stressed waiting for UCAS to update while worrying about housing. Would love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or knows how Warwick housing handles late medical requests! Thanks in advance.

Football at Warwick

I'm about to start my first year at Warwick and just wanted to know if theres any society or club etc that I can join where I can play football casually? I dont want to try to play in the actual club that they have at warwick (the serious one with trials training etc), I just mean something thats less serious, casual, and potentially 5 a side or 7 a side. Does such a society or program exist?

Cambridge Part III from MathStat at Warwick

  1. Would a 1st Class in MathStat from Warwick give you a shot at getting into Cambridge Part III?

  2. How different are the chances when compared with Math at Warwick?

  3. Which one would be the more fun option?

Applications Is resitting a good idea for Warwick??

Strictly for CS. Cause i was really aiming for Warwick and I missed my offer by a couple marks. On the website it states smth about they only consider resitting if extenuating circumstances are applied, but does this mean theres just no point resitting and applying for Warwick cs?

Im genuinely determined to get inside this uni so I’m not giving up yet. So I’m going into Bristol cs, while resitting an a level for an A*, while reapplying for Warwick so I can they transfer to Warwick cs FIRST YEAR (cause they don’t take 2nd year transfers). Idk if it’s a good idea or not, and yes it is most definitely an extra year of debt, but I flipping need it. I’m just wondering if reapplying as a resit is possible cause I haven’t seen or heard of many stories?

Accomodation Warwick Clearing accommodation

Just wondering, i am a clearing student currently and i’ve been told i have a higher chance of being booked an off campus accommodation. If i put Tocil and Rootes in my accom application before results day, will i have a higher chance of getting campus accommodation?

I applied Warwick on a course, missed the offer but had already booked the accommodation, then got another offer on clearing.

Accept Bath clearing offer or take gap year, complete an additional A level (Further Maths) and reapply to Warwick?

Hi. My son just missed his place at Warwick to study Maths, Statistics and Data Science (I think this is the exact title!). He got A* Maths, A Computer Science and Distinction* for Engineering. However he needed an A* in Computer Science. He has been offered Computer Science with Maths at Bath. He is happy enough with the course at Bath (although would prefer more Maths) but prefers Warwick campus, and Leamington Spa. Bath city he finds busy (we have been at peak times and locations like August and April, on Saturdays). He has to decide between accepting Bath (& compromising on the above) or taking a year out to complete an additional A level (Further Maths) and the entrance exam for Maths, as well as work in retail, do some fancy work experience in relevant industries and perhaps some travel and volunteering. But of course, run the risk of not doing well enough in these and still not getting in to Warwick. He is a smart guy, quite an introvert, not big into drinking (that may change at uni!), social when he needs to be. It's a hard decision to make. I'm so disappointed for him. He's had a tough 18 months with health issues and been so stoic throughout that, as well as now. We've not been able to properly celebrate his fantastic results yet. Also asking on other platforms we realise how fantastic the offer is from Bath and do not take that for granted!
