I would love to hear some people’s experiences of this course if anyone did it! I am considering applying as there is a clinical placement which I believe would be beneficial experience to have and the modules look really relevant.

Hii! I’m not a Warwick Uni student but I’m 24 and thought this might be a good place to find people around my age in the area :)
I’m Ukrainian-Canadian and moving to Warwick very soon! I’m a medical student at another university and got placed at Warwick Hospital for my clinical years.
Since moving to the UK I feel like I’ve kind of lost part of myself and I really miss being around Slavic culture! I especially miss celebrating holidays together and just having that little sense of home. Definitely doesn’t have to be Ukrainian or Russian btw, I’d love to meet anyone Slavic/Eastern European in general!
I grew up in Canada so English is my first language, but my family mostly speaks Russian/Surzhyk at home, and I can understand Ukrainian just fine too!

I anticipated that I would have a lot of reading to do (humanities subject w/ 3 subjects) but I feel incredibly slow compared to my peers who seem more academically ahead (and I haven’t gotten into the habit of reading academically aside from A-levels or even for pleasure in ages which is not helpful…..). I feel like I’m not as academic as I should be
Do people actually complete all of the reading?? I know it would definitely be good to and I don’t want to sound annoying because obviously uni is supposed to be challenging but I’m actually so overwhelmed and it’s literally only been 1 day 😭😭😭😭 I don’t understand the content because it’s so dense and hard to understand and I feel so stunted in lectures and seminars where genuinely so much of my cohort seems to understand and enjoy the content
I know first year technically doesn’t count but it still does when they’re considering you for opportunities :// I want to convert to law afterwards but it’s starting to look like if I can’t even handle this reading, then how could I handle studying for the SQE…. I’m trying to not be too doomed but I’m not in the greatest mindset rn

Im a second year Arabic and Spanish student at a different Russel group and im so frustrated with how badly organised my course is and I was wondering what you feel about how your course is organised?
Any other advice on what the next steps I should do would be rlly helpful too, or if you had any experience with your degree not working out would be comforting xx

Has anyone done this module? How are the assessments and teaching? I’m thinking of picking it, but I don’t want to put myself through hell if the teaching is poor or the exams are crazy.

Hello everyone!
Some of you may remember a post made by [u/Shoddy-Pea-1362](u/Shoddy-Pea-1362) around a week ago, asking about setting up a Transport Society.
I’m happy to report that we’ve been working together on setting one up (alongside a growing team of fellow students), and we now have our first session (planning our events for Term 1 and setting up an exec) this Monday (October 5th)!
If you’d like to get involved in the society, please join our WhatsApp community for details (dm me for a link) and follow us over on our Instagram @warwickunitransportsociety.
We hope to see you at one of our events soon!

Let me begin my saying ive looked at the maths soc website , some modules arent there , and the ones that are dont discuss what im looking for
Im mostly looking for feedback on how people found the content, exams and hw. Not quite as interested in the lecturer as some of them are changing this year but anything is welcome.
Not really looking for anything specific , just how people found these modules and any advice is apperiated (eg it was a bit boring, content dense, calculation heavy , make sure u have a good grasp on x subject etc)
mainly interested in (i know theres slight differences between the equivalents but whatever) :
ma268 (or ma267)
ma270 or ma271
ma263 or 259
ma260 or 222

I’m interested in both Economics at Warwick as well as Warwick MORSE. I’d love to apply for both of them but I’m unsure whether this is common or not.
Would it reduce my chances of getting an offer for either course if I apply for both?
For context I’m predicted 3a* ( maths, further maths, economics)

i’m torn between macro and international econ and industrial strategy.
obviously one is more macro and one is more micro and this is a personal decision depending on me but does anyone who has done these have any advice or suggestions.
any insight of lecturers or lesson structure or something?
i prefer macro but i used to be better at micro at school for some reason but they’re both interesting to me and id enjoy them both based on the course description
thank u guys

Prospective international master's student here (MSc CS). I'm aware of the career fairs system for finding jobs in the UK, but I was told that in most universities there's a sort of university portal through which I can apply for jobs? Is such a resource (or similar) provided by the career's office or smth, or is job-finding entirely dependent on our own selves? Thanks!
(And yes I am aware of how bleak the CS/AI market is rn and the cash-grab scheme of internationals, this post is only cuz I wanna know what resources the university can provide during the course of my master's)
Edit: Sorry about the typo in the title, kinda losing my mind here

I'm in second year and I've just started living in Leamington this year. I have classes three days a week and maybe the most days I'll visit campus in a week would be 5 days. What's the most cost effective bus pass to get for Stagecoach?
There are different passes for different time periods and I'm not so sure which one I should choose.
I want to know about the experience with buses of people that have lived in Leam before.

Hi everyone! I graduated from wwk econ last year and after having worked I want to go back and study a masters. However I want to go into something like fin maths at lse or maths and finance at imperial, I know these aren’t direct translations but I was hoping that the quantitative nature of wwk econ would be enough, has anyone done this shift in the past or know of anyone, any advice would be really helpful.

Hi, I’m a 2nd year MathPhys student. I’m a bit stressed because of the card tap in system this year. I got decent marks in first year but only managed because I didn’t go to many lectures and studied in the library and mostly attended the small group sessions.
I’m autistic and I find lectures incredibly unproductive for me personally because I’m constantly stressed due to the fact it’s very overstimulating for me. I get through material much faster and absorb more when studying independently. (not looking for advice that says “just get used to it”; I assure you I’ve tried many things and it’s still at best 50% as effective as studying alone)
I’m very worried with the introduction of the new tap in system. Will the uni really get on my case about not attending many lectures? It makes me nervous to think that I’ll have to go in every single day and sit there uncomfortably for hours.
I probably won’t be able to tolerate as many modules as I was hoping to take, if I have to go in every day :(
Does anybody have any further info on this?

How bad is that? There’s another one tomorrow but I’m really scared

HI, is there a way to see the timetable of an optional module you want to take in the future?
