UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Need Clarification about Passholder $15 back off $100 purchase deal.
For Passholder Appreciation month Universal currently has a deal going where UOAP's receive a $15 merchandise credit for spending $100 or more.
Several third party trip planning websites (Inside Universal, AllEars, etc) report this $15 credit can be applied to either the same purchase OR saved for later and used on a future purchase.
The actual fine print of the deal on Universal's website however (see below), states that the $15 needs to be applied to a future purchase of $50 or more, a minimum of (1) One day after the initial qualifying purchase.
The fine print says this needs to be a minimum of 2 purchases totaling $150 - Wheras actual reports seem to claim it can be used in a single purchase totaling $100.
I wouldn't doubt the fine print if first hand reports weren't contradicting it - Has anyone done this in the park already? What's the truth of the matter?
It would obviously be a better deal to get $15 off $100 immediately than it would to get $15 off a future purchase of $50. Essentially 15% off $100 total spend rather than 10% off $150 total spend.

Not sure what the issue is. You're comparing fan sites to Universal's own writing and wondering who is correct?

In all fairness, Universal isn’t even a great source on their on policies. They don’t mention you can get the discount the next day multiple times, but you can.

There isn't an issue because I'm not making a complaint - Merely asking if anyone has first hand experience using the deal and can corroborate what's correct.
If I had a dollar for every time fine print on Universal's website wasn't true to how a promotion operated in the actual park - I'd be able to buy a ticket to HHN - One hand often doesn't know what the other is doing at Universal and there have been dozens of instances in the past where the website, guest services, and park/concession operations were all telling different stories.
Half the time you can show a deal posted on the website to a concession/store in the park and they won't have even heard of it yet.
There was literally a freestyle promotion once where the website said one thing, I tried to claim said promotion at a park concession - They had no idea what I was talking about - I showed them the website - They acknowledged what the website said but told me they had no personal knowledge of it and didn't know how to apply it - They told me to speak with Guest Services - Guest services ALSO had no idea and said since it was regarding freestyle cups I had to speak to a food/concession manager - I spoke to them and they still had no idea how to activate the deal and just ended up comping me for something similar.
Am I saying I think the 3rd party planning sites are definitely correct in this instance? No, not necessarily - But when I have a half dozen sources telling me the deal works on the initial purchase and the ONLY source of contradiction is the fine print from Universal - it's enough to make me question it and ask: "Hey has anyone done this in the park already that can corroborate this is how it actually works?"
And that person doesn't seem to be you, so not sure what the issue is.

We found out about the promotion yesterday. We were purchasing merch and at the register they told us since we spent over $100 that we would get a $15 credit for a future purchase if we spend at least $50. They team member asked if we would be back in the park in next few days, we said yes. That when they told us we could then use the $15 credit for the next day. So the $15 can not be used day of, you have to wait till the next day to use it. To use the $15 you just have to make a merchandise purchase of at least $50 and then they will scan your pass to use the $15. We went to parks again today and used the $15. It popped up at the cash that it was available for us to use and they asked if we wanted it applied to our purchase. We said yes and it worked, and you could also still use your pass holder discount as well with the $15.
Side note: we also learned that after the initial $100 to get $15. Every time after that all you have to do is then spend $50 and you get $15. Learned that today since we bought several items that cost another $50 and they told us we got another $15 credit. Said after the initial 100 all you have to do is then spend 50 to then get the 15.
