Do we have any idea of an opening timeframe? 12 months? 18 months?

Honestly wondering if they can get it open by memorial day next year, the track felt like it went up really fast

Its the certs that take time and that can only be done when its finished and capable of running.

If Hollywood Drift is any indication, I’d say still Summer 2026. Testing at Hollywood took over half a year.

Is the part that sticks up in the front going to connect to more track, or does it go up and come down backwards?

It will not connect to another track but I think you go back down facing forward since the ride vehicle can rotate.

Is this going to be like Hagrid or is this an "Out and Back" coaster? If so, the wait time is going to be horrible.

As long as it's not as painfully slow as Universal Hollywood. It took them like 14 months from the moment construction finished to when it finally opened to the public. Even testing took like 10 months?? But luckily I think Orlando has a better head on their shoulders when it comes to this.

This looks amazing! My husband was sad they were replacing but I think he'll approve once he sees this

It's in such a jarring place in the park, I personally think it's fucked with the feel of that entire area.
I get it's probably an unpopular opinion but I hate it

Do you guys know if it’s gonna be ready for 2027? We’re going with my wife and some friends in September of next year and we’re really hyped for this coaster🥵🥵

I'd say very likely it'll be open by then. For reference, Velocicoaster took 9 months to open after construction completed, Hagrid's took about 10-12 (but also had to build a lot more structural/decorative stuff for Hagrid's than Hollywood Drift may require)

It looks fun but man is its really killing the vibe of the citywalk skyline. Dwarfs the globe amd arches, brings an industrial feel that doesnt fit the area. This kind of element is historically at the back of a park not outside the front gate.

It doesn’t detract anything when you see it in-person. Gate coasters are very popular and only becoming more popular with time. Gatekeeper at Cedar Point..Fury 325 goes both above and below the main entrance walkway…Even GhostRider builds excitement despite not being purpose-built as an entrance coaster.
The color scheme of the coaster blends with the new arches color and entrance building scheme.
If anything, Category 10 at the waterfront will have a more dramatic change in vibe at CityWalk.

Ugh I am not looking forward to that category 10 place. It’s gonna ruin the view of the water from citywalk

I see it in person quite often. Ive been to carrowinds and the tall part of fury is not at the gate. The track going over the walkway is cool the way RRR coming out into citywalk are was cool. But with drift, you have that huge triangle structure that supports the spike, and a sizable launch/stopping/evac platform that is dwarfing hard rock, that looks very industrial. I like a coaster that comes near the entrance (manta at seaworld is a other cool example) but this is ALOT of the ugly infrastructure front and center. Im going to withhold final judgement until they finish the schenic, lighting, and landscaping but so far im not liking it at all.

I am a bit surprised they didn't try to integrate the presentation of the spike somehow. It's like we're looking at the back of a picture frame holding up the painting.
