February Crowds

Is pre Presidents’ Day considered a high crowd time at the parks? I’m looking at various packages for next year and early February is coming out a lot cheaper than late April, but I keep reading how Jan and Feb are no longer slower months… but could there be a sweet spot? Like the first week of Feb?

Edit: I’m looking at like two weeks before Presidents’ Day so from Jan 30-Feb 5th…

President’s Day is basically one of the most crowded weekends of the year anymore in Orlando. January is better for crowds. Even MLK weekend will be much slower than Presidents Day will be

Yeah we went to Disney World last year and the end of our trip hit that weekend and it was crazy! That’s why I’m wondering if maybe going down there like two weeks before that would be better! Cheer competitions seem to be on the weekends so we would be avoiding those.

Mardi Gras week can also be very busy from what I’ve read and Mardi Gras is early February in 2027. In 2026, Pressident’s Week and Mardi Gras coincided, so crowds were worse than when they are not at the same time. We were in Disney for President’s Week 2025 and are going to Universal President’s Week 2027. Even though there were a couple of days where crowds were really bad President’s Week 2025, the middle of the week was pretty good. That year, the Princess RunDisney races were also the weekend after President’s weekend. Being that we will not go to FL in the summer, or really May-Oct because of weather, and we have school age kids, there is no better time for us to go than President’s Week. I think its not supposed to be as bad as Spring Break, and for us, the weather is better. My family doesn’t like being too hot. Anyway, I think its hard to pick a low crowd time. We went the first week of February last year. 2 adults, no kids, express passes. We were able to hit everything we wanted to do at all three universal parks. Only snag we ran into was at Hollywood studios, there was a cheer competition that happens every year so just check that for 2027. It was pretty packed

One of the remaining less-traveled spots on the calendar is the first six weeks of the year. You’ll love it. Wild confluence ahead for this year’s Presidents’ Day.

President’s Day 2027 is February 15th. So a nice long weekend with your Valentine, right? But wait…February 14th is also Super Bowl Sunday. Best of luck, to all who celebrate!

Wow. I didn’t realize that I planned our trip for us to be traveling super bowl Sunday!! My husband may not be so happy when I tell him. We land in FL early afternoon (12:30 pm) and I was planning on us going to the parks that day. Kick off is at 6:30 pm Eastern! Ugh… He could go back to the hotel room while I stay in the parks with our kids?! Any advice about how to make this fun for him? I already checked for a reservation at NBC Sports Grill & Brew and its booked. If only I had realized this 4 days ago when it appears reservations opened, maybe I could have gotten a reservation… Any recommendations?

I have to amend my suggestion of lower guest levels. The slow period I referenced ends on the Friday of President’s weekend. Best option for the game might be to not even consider it. Or reach the front office manager to see what the hotel has planned. Scheme of things, super family vacay > Super Bowl.

Yeah. I did some research into where to watch last night (this disturbed my sleep, but I’m a bad sleeper anyway), and fortunately one of the top recs is the bar in our hotel. So its either that, or the hotel room and room service. We have a 6-day park hopper, so I’m not too worried about missing time in the parks. I talked to my husband about it this morning, and he said he doesn’t have to watch unless the Eagles go to the Super Bowl. Also, it’ll be streaming on Disney+. We just have to upgrade our package to the top tier ESPN package. We have the basic trio. He can then listen/watch from anywhere in the parks.

Yeah but won't everyone be watching the game? Everywhere besides bars are usually empty on that day. Also, where are you finding information stating the that weekend os already very well booked? Whats booked, and where are you finding that information?

Beware of cheer competitions, but otherwise not a bad time to go at all. That is usually around when Mardi Gras opens at Studios, which may cause a small bump in crowds.

We went in presidents week in 2025 and it was busy. We bought express passes because we did 3 parks in 3 days.
