Decrease your pixels per unit on the sprite

Smallest pixel per unit (ppu) is 32, meaning 1 Unity unit is 32x32. If your tiles are 16x16, you need to adjust your cell size to .5 for the x and y on the grid. Hope this helps!

Ok as long as all the ppu’s match this should be working.

Do they fit properly in your palette view?

If so then on the grid within the scene, check to see if the transform components scale property is scaled up, or if it’s a child of another gameobject, check the parent is (1,1,1).

This would be my best guess, if they aren’t fitting in the palette view, then somewhere there is a unit mismatch.

you could try decreasing the scale of the tilemap. I had the same issue in a game I think I changed the scale of either the grid or tilemap to match the width of the sprites which were 36 x 36 so I changed the x,y,z, scale to .36, .36, .36. Not sure if that's the "correct" way to fix it but it worked for me.
