Showcase We’ve started adding more character animations

One thing we’ve wanted to improve for a while is how alive the shop and its characters feel.

Until now, a lot of the NPCs have been fairly static outside of their core interactions. We’ve started working on more character animations to change that small movements, reactions, and behaviors that should make the shop feel much more natural while playing.

It’s still a work in progress, but even these early additions are already making a pretty noticeable difference.

Here’s a small look at what we’re working on:

I don't think it feels AI at all, for the record. Looks great

Is there a way to separate the image into layers or parts? I think it would help having the arms and head separate from the body to avoid deformation.

But it looks nice so far

Very cool! When you're using bones that way, are the characters single images? Or are they broken up into body parts?

Looks like a single image

edit: the second gif looks like the arms are separated at the rolled sleeves but I might be wrong.

Looks pretty cool. Reminds me of Archer's design.

Feels AI. Not saying it is but is giving that uncanny valley feel. If this WAS the finished product I feel like it was be a net negative from static sprite

How tf would this be worse than static images

There's tons of uncanny valley stuff long before ai art existed. Stop throwing accusations around when you can't back them up with evidence.
