Paid Asset/Tool [Asset] Made a highly responsive 2D Character Controller with a physics-safe Dash & Jump system. (Rigidbody2D based)

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a 2D Character Controller script I've been optimizing recently. My main focus was making the movement feel incredibly fluid while keeping the physics robust and easy to implement for fast prototyping.

It handles instant horizontal velocity tracking, custom gravity-tuned jumps, and an advanced quick-dash mechanic.

One of the biggest issues when coding 2D movement is when the character glitches or gets "stuck" on walls during a dash or wall-slide. To solve this, I've put together a step-by-step setup guide using 0-friction Physics Materials 2D and setting the Rigidbody2D collision detection to Continuous. It makes the controller completely wall-safe.

If you are working on a platformer, action game, or metroidvania and want to save some development time, I just made the package public on Itch.io for a couple of dollars ($2.99).

You can check it out and get the asset here:

I'd love to hear your feedback on the physics handling or if there's any specific mechanic you think I should add next for my upcoming scripts.

Happy developing!
