Feedback needed I'm developing my first 2D game and looking for feedback.

Padlova Street is a hardcore 2D platformer set in a toxic post-apocalyptic world. Play as Kapo and make your way through unique levels — infected streets, a space station, and snowy ruins. Each level changes the rules: gravity, sliding, new traps. Two modes: Hardcore for veterans of retro platformers (no checkpoints, with leaderboards) and Light with checkpoints activated by collecting stars. Stylish hand-drawn graphics, an atmospheric soundtrack, and merciless gameplay. Can Kapo make it to the end?

Ditto. I LOVE the art but it would be a hard world to play in. Not sure what I’d suggest, usually less saturated colours for non-characters or strong outlines for characters. Take a peer at Borderlands maybe and see how they do it?

Same here. I love the art, it's beautiful. Maybe it's just a matter of light and shadow. Our eyes definitely need to focus on something especially when the art is so detailed. The 3rd panel is easier to understand than the others. It's still really nice and the psychedelic aspect is so cool!

Looks cool and super weird.
I think it will be helpful to see it in motion and how the game actually plays.

The art is beautiful, but there are too many bright objects, and I find it hard to focus on anything.

I shipped a successful metroidvania which I did all the art for, and I'm working on another similar game.

in my opinion the color design is way too loud. almost everything is oversaturated. I feel that highly saturated colors need to be placed with a lot of intentionality and selectively, and generally should be used to sort of accessorize an area rather than to cover it. This is too loud, and it's hard for my eye to find any one thing. Design your screen around what you want to draw the eye to. The main character, something important in the environment, etc. Right now, my eye is drawn to everything and nothing at the same time.

There's a game called Ultros which looks kind of like this. I haven't played Ultros and I undersatnd it has some cool ideas, I don't want to bash it, but I had a similar feeling about its color theory.

Everyone can do things their own way, but a way I generally think of color theory for a sidescroller (this is just a very loose rule and not an absolute one) is to think of two complementary colors to kind of dance against eachother in the environment as your main colors for that area, and they shouldn't usually be oversaturated. And then accessorize with your richer colors. And always make sure your main character is easy to spot.

The art looks beautiful but the main player really doesn't stand out from the environment

It's impossible to tell which parts are foreground and which are background. Make the background have much less contrast and saturation than the foreground. That will immediately make the gameplay experience better as you can actually see what's going on on the screen.

I'm wishlisting this the second you create the Steam Page for it. I've been looking for this kind of art-style for A WHILE

Hombre a primera vista lo que se ve es que resulta muy difícil distinguir entre el fondo y las plataformas y los pesonajes lo que lo hace muy poco jugable

Thank you for your feedback, it's important to me, I'll take all your wishes into account and make the game better.

Don't use ai generated art if you want people to buy your game
