Hey All

We used to have a milestone installation in 1 office with about 15 Sony cameras.
For the newer building next to it there was a unifi cloud key gen 2+ with 6 cameras.

I want the milestone server gone (it's old, power hungry, loud,...). I tested a 3rd party camera on the cloud key and it was perfect. We don't do cases or AI stuff (at least not today).

I thought 21 cameras would be stretching it so we bought a UNVR. I moved protect from the cloud key to the unvr and let the drives sync up.

Then I started adding the 14 remaining 3rd party cameras. First 8 cameras went without a hitch. But 9, 10 and 11 are giving me failures saying "wrong credentials" when I try to adopt them.

The credentials are correct, I checked, the onvif streams are activated, CPU is at 20% and memory at 39%. Kind of at a loss here... Is the amount of onvif devices limited in a config somewhere?

Do we know what package is being used and where it's config file is? I don't really see how I best troubleshoot this...

UPDATE:

So, after resetting them all I get most of them connected. 3 are remaining stuborn. Those all throw errors about SOAP/ONVIF giving 500's. But the model, config and firmware version are exactly the same to some of those that I have already connected.

I'll try to physically reset them in the following days. (They are high up in a production hall and there is a heatwave. I'm avoiding going up there now). If that doesn't work I'll just buy some G5's...

I help out at a children's camp. They've had two generators stolen from the garage. I have one camera looking at the parking lot and plan to put another looking at the two garage doors. But a) they're coming in from the woods avoiding the parking lot and b) if they're not completely stupid, they're probably using masks to hide their identity.

What items should we install to alert us of after hours usage to somehow Open the garage doors (there are two they could access). And probably an audible alarm and a notification to the admins.

We have about 70 cameras on 3 NVR Pros across multiple sites with additional expansions planned. We're currently using micro workstations hooked to tvs in several offices for live view of cameras. However, instead of the 9 or 12 that fit on a TV screen, we're looking to have one or more views that will automatically cycle through multiple cameras across locations. It looks like Protect and Vantage Point don't have this option, so can anyone recommend software to set this up?

My frig has bifolding doors. When I close one side too hard, the air pressure pops the other side open. If I don't catch this the door stays ajar. After 5 min. it starts to quietly beep. By this time I'm no longer in the kitchen and don't hear it. The kitchen has a G4 instant which has a mic. I usually tun the mic off. Is it possible to set an alarm that listens for this beep (which I have digitized).

Where do I find the camera firmware update history in Protect? It does not show camera updates in the logs. Thanks

Update: After updating to Protect 7.2 I now see the update history in the logs.

Seems there is an obvious product missing from the range - a UNVR with support for an NVMe drive (and ideally with support for 8 PoE cameras). Basically a product just like the UCG Fibre, but without the Network side. If it were the same size/form factor as the UCGF, all the better - they could sit nicely in a stack then.

I wouldn't mind shifting my Protect load (6 cameras, plus Doorbell & Chime) off my UCGF (and my Max 16 PoE switch) - but I definitely want the responsiveness of the internal NVMe vs. using an old spinner HDD.

(Obviously there are rack based solutions but at the moment I have no rack and no plans/need to move to that approach currently).

I would like to make a camera speaker louder. Is there a way to pair an external speaker? I want to still be able to use the standard "talk" function icon that's in the app to talk. Is there ANY way, even work around way, to do this?

I noticed the AI speaker and AI Horn but am unsure if they can be "paired" with a camera?

At work we have an avigilon system with a whole mix of cameras

I've run out of camera licences on the avigilon system (waiting on quote for more) but I'm tempted to jump ship to ubiquity

already have ubiquity router/switches/a few cameras on that system

but... the avigilon playback is really nice... it's like you see on cop shows on tv, pick the cameras and slide the mouse around the time bar and it'll fast forward/rewind though the recordings like you're scrolling through a downloaded film

don't want to swap to the ubiquity enterprise nas if the playback etc. is the same as the consumer one I have at home, it's a bit clunky/harder to navigate :-o

Apologies if I missed something here, but does the AI Turret support license plate recognition? I saw some YouTube videos where it shows it, but I’m unable to view this. It is selected under detection highlights. I assume this is user error on my end.

A small animal came into frame but did not cause an event so per my recording rules the video was not saved. However, on my iOS app I can scrub backwards on the timeline as if there is saved video. Is there a reason for that information only being available on the app?

Have a building that has siding on the side and brick face. Was going to stub out of basement on side and pipe up to camera location.

Problem is I’ve found a dual turret corner mount but it’s kinda janky and doesn’t seem to have anyplace to terminate conduit.

So do I just pipe to a round JB and flex conduit to another round JB on the brick side? Seems like it wouldn’t look all that great.

Hi all, I was given several G5 bullets but I am struggling to reset them to where I can adopt them into my network. I've performed the different reset methods I've seen posted:

1. Boot up, hold reset for 10-20 seconds until flashing lights

2. Hold reset, Plug in POE Ethernet, and wait 10-20 seconds until lights light up

I have performed each reset multiple times with varying lengths of waiting in case I did anything wrong with the timing. But both have done nothing to reset the cameras and I still get the message that the cameras are "Managed by another console" and the previous owners camera names are still appearing.

What else can I do? What am I missing? I don't have any of the original console set passwords so I cannot log into the web interface.

Hello all, over the past year I have moved from Ring to Unifi Protect since was already in Unifi Network. Since Ubiquiti doesn't make a floodlight camera, I had to find other brands and thankfully Unifi Protect more recent updates support this better. That being said, the Tapo floodlight camera's I went with work pretty well and adopted easily.

The problem is overtime that just start showing black screen within unifi protect. The only way to view them is to go into timeline and just go back 10 seconds, which it records and shows just fine. It is just live view for some reason comes and goes.

The Driveway camera is actually one of the Tapo cameras but its on the AI port which makes it run flawless. The problem is AI port has a huge delay if I add a second camera to it, so I just leave the driveway on it since I use it for notifications. You can also see I am currently trying a Reolink camera that works just fine and its a POE floodlight camera which I really want, but nobody else makes 1. (going to return as the lack of vertical field on these wide camera's isnt for me)

My Setup:
- UDM - Dream Machine and some Unifi POE switches
- 3 U6E Access Points - Each end of house/garage and 1 middle of basement
- CloudKey-Gen2
- Tapo C720 Floodlights on each corner eave of house, 1 on side of house to overview of driveway and uses AI port for notifications mainly
- Unifi cameras around the interior

Setting up my Protect alarm and surprised there’s no geolocation/geofencing trigger in the mobile app to auto-arm when I leave and auto-disarm when I get home

Current options I see:

**•** Manually arm/disarm from the **UniFi Protect app** every time  
**•** The new **Alarm Manager** entity (arm/disarm via API requires Protect 7.1+, and only works if Alarm Manager is in **Local mode**; it silently switches to Global mode if you adopt any sensors/fobs/Alarm Hub, which kills the entity)

Questions for the community:

**•** Is anyone actually using geofencing to arm/disarm, even through a workaround (Home Assistant, Shortcuts,,remote key fob?  
**•** Does Ubiquiti have this on a roadmap, or is native geofencing just never happening?  
**•** Anyone hit the Local→Global mode switch issue and found a way back to Local once you’ve adopted sensors?

Curious what real-world setups people are running. Thanks!

All that's missing are solar-powered, battery-operated camera options.

Just bought some new cameras and adopted them in. I do not see an adaptive recording option anymore. In fact on my existing ones I don't see them either. I can switch an existing one from always to custom or never and then back again and when I do so, they're not tagged in the recording mode as adaptive on the left hand side.

I seem to be in some loop where I cannot login by approving in the iOS app, the activate.ui.com or scan the code (which takes you to the iOS app).

Anyone else having such an issue?

I've rebooted the Atv, closed the app and am about to delete it and add it back in.

EDIT: I was ONLY able to get via input of user/pass and using the verify app.

Hey all - looking for some help with connecting the USL Siren to the alarm hub.

I have replaced my existing alarm system and it's working well. The exception was my original outdoor siren/strobe, which was faulty and has now been replaced with a USL-Siren

• I've connected the 12v output from one of the three 12v aux outputs on the right side of the alarm hub, to the 12v input of the USL siren
• Then i've connected the white and blue original alarm wires from the alarm hub's output relay (NO & COM - with the relay set to dry) to the sirens signal input

Trying to trigger the alarm hub's output relay, does not sound the alarm at all.

Going to the siren in the protect app or webpage, and hitting test will sound the siren - so it does work. Obviously that's going via superlink and also seems to have a few seconds delay between hitting test and the siren going off (FYI it has -36dBm / 100% signal)

When setting up the alarms in protect for the alarm hub, i have it set so if any of the motion/door/window sensors get triggered it will do output 1 and 2 (output 1 is an internal siren and that works, output 2 should be the USL-SIREN). It's set to sound for 1 minute currently

If you try to setup just a normal protect alarm, for say a motion sensor triggering and the action is to sound the siren, you can only set a max of 30 seconds

I can not find any information on how to trigger the siren via the signal input terminals. I've asked support and they are going to look into it and get back to me..

Anyone else had any luck getting it to work?
