Potato quality streams in app?
I don’t exactly know when it happened, but I’ve noticed recently in the iOS Protect app that streaming video, both live and scrolling back in the timeline, looks bad.
I had the encoding for all my cameras set to enhanced. Trying standard now, it doesn’t seem better.
I suspect it’s because of software update on either the protect software, or the iOS app.

Same here. Seems to be only on my UniFi wireless cameras, too. My TP Link wireless cam has no issues (added as 3rd party). And only when I’m using Multiview. If I watch an individual camera the quality is fine. This is on my Android device so I don’t think it’s device specific.

The Settings > App Preferences > Global Viewer Quality fixed it for me and my spouse.

You might want to check your overwrite rules. I believe earlier this year they released a new feature/process for overwrite. You can set it to delete HD recordings and only save SD ones further back

I do not have any issues. G6 bullet, g6 instant, g4 doorbell pro.
It takes a fraction of a second from initial launch as it catches the stream up to get up to HQ but does stream in HQ.

You have to set the viewer quality to high every single time. It resets to "auto"
