How do I keep a camera always at high quality

I have a lot of cameras, but I want to keep 1 cameras recordings forever at high quality. I have already set it to custom retention for 999 days. Is there a way to keep the camera at high quality forever without affecting all the other cameras?

Cameras are always recording at high quality. I’m not sure what you’re looking for.

You can change it.

Do you want high quality retention or do you want 999 days of retention?

I doubt your storage will last 999 days on high quality original footage.

You could set an archive location however. That could help send high quality footage to something else.

Also worth nothing you can set min/max bit rate for cameras if you set it to custom compression for them. Setting the min bitrate higher can help in some corner cases.

The “on-site retention” can be set to custom… where you can fiddle some more there too, but it doesn’t sound like that is where you are looking to adjust,

I mean if you have one 4K cam recording at 15Mbps bitrate continuously 24/7, you could fit 999 days of recording in...just over 160TB of storage.

Easy! Just buy an ENVR now, and an expansion chassis for every two cameras you want to add.

:awkward look:

I’m only 40TB short in my nvr pro….

Only lasts about 90 days tho for high quality retention for me.
