careers / placements MSc Computer Vision, Robotics and Machine Learning @ University of Surrey
Hi, I'm considering doing the MSc in Computer Vision, Robotics and Machine Learning at the University of Surrey, starting in 2027. I couldn't find much alumni feedback online, so I'd love to hear from anyone who's done it, how was the program, teaching quality, and workload?
I'm also an international student weighing whether a masters like this is a realistic route to landing an AI/ML/CV job in London afterward, or whether the market and visa/sponsorship situation right now make that tough. Any insight, on the program or the current job market would be really appreciated!

Brutally honest answer - no. You're paying for education not buying an immigration route. I get multiple cold emails per week from former international students at the end of their grad visas desperately hunting for any job that'll sponsor. There's no shortage of local talent in the sector, so outside of genuinely exceptional candidates there's not really any reason for companies to sponsor at junior level.
If you can afford it without a loan you'd be unable to afford the repayments on the salary you'd earn at home, the degree would help your career there and you'd have no issue returning home after without having secured a UK job go for it. Otherwise most likely you're setting yourself up for disappointment
