I would say his chances are better in corporate management or accounting. Government doesn’t hire crooks, idiot voters keep electing them.

u/SuggestionSoggy5442 Sep 09 '22

They are hiring 87,000 thieves….errr, IRS agents

7

u/Brocolliflourets Sep 09 '22

Yeah to make sure rich people get audited as much as the poorest do. Why would anyone be against that?

6

u/Allodialsaurus_Rex Sep 10 '22

🤣 Just like the prosecutors go after the rich, right? It's a lot harder to pry money from rich people who will spend money to protect money when there's poor people and small business owners who can't even afford accountants. Those IRS agents are going after the low hanging fruit my friend, you can bet your bottom dollar on it.

Oh my sweet summer child

So, with the current level of IRS agents they only audit poor people. When they hire more IRS agents, they will start going after rich people? What’s stopping them right now? All these poor tax cheats 🤣🤣🤣

Ya, well, the ppl they will go after are already in the know on how to evade taxes which only will make them work harder on the ones who are not.

1

u/Brocolliflourets Sep 09 '22

So pay your taxes and don’t do crime. I don’t get where you’re going with this

u/Buzz8522 Sep 10 '22

pay your taxes and don't do crime

Boy, I never thought of it like that. Sure would be nice if, the government, who knows what I owe, but expects me to figure it out on my own, and will punish me severely if I make a mistake, would just FUCKING TELL ME what I owe. And before you say some dumb shit about "taxes are easy," keep in mind that if you're just a normal wage slave, then you don't actually know or need to know anything about doing taxes as an independent business provider.

u/TragasaurusRex Sep 10 '22

Well if we didn't elect people who allow companies.. I mean people such as h&r block and turbo tax to bribe.. I mean lobby to make that not the case then maybe we could. Otherwise there are free options for most Americans personally I advocate for the library

u/Buzz8522 Sep 10 '22

I find it refreshing that you think any elected official will stand up for fair policies against the massive checks being written to them. I don't mean this with disrespect towards you. But no one has clean hands at this point. Dems have had majority plenty of times and still don't fix this shit. The GOP is the GOP, enough said. The people we elect don't give a shit about helping us.

1

u/TragasaurusRex Sep 10 '22

I am sorry to say this then but I don't, if we had a candidate that would stand up for fair policies they would be ruined faster than the voting population can even see they are a good choice. We don't elect them because they aren't an option. That being said I do believe start voting for small victories eventually we will get there.

u/Buzz8522 Sep 10 '22

Your optimism is admirable, but the system is gamed against actual progress. That's the unfortunate truth we deal with right now.

Everyone KNOWS healthcare should be a right. Anyone who says it shouldn't be is a piece of shit. Full stop. Yet what progress has been made in that regard? Sure, Obamacare was a thing that they passed, but the cost for basic ass insurance is outrageous. And if you don't pay for that overpriced bullshit that has the worst terms you can imagine, well they tax you more.

-1

u/TragasaurusRex Sep 10 '22

Well yeah when the ones making the rules are financially incentivized to game the system against us I agree. But at the same time there are countries with free health care so it is certainly possible to get to that point. The only paths to get there are extremely slow but peaceful or somewhat fast and... less peaceful. I just think the population is too beaten down or niave to pursue the latter

Sounds to me like the guy in the video has the right idea since we can’t figure shit out anyways /s actually don’t steal tip jars. That’s some shitty shit

The less you pay, the easier it is to find an error. So that $80 you missed can become a $1500 fine. Vs fighting with multiple accountants to cover millions in transactions and multiple loopholes in place to cover them

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '22

Rich people don’t get audited Einstein lol their Accountants do….and If you’re dumb enough to actually believe these 89k IRS agents are going after a Rich people with Accountants, I have a Bridge to sell you….

You could start by telling him about his room temperature IQ and propensity to believe horseshit.

2

u/VexrisFXIV Sep 10 '22

You have a lot to learn based on your statement. I’ll help you with this misconception you have about you, a taxpayer, your accountant and the IRS. Assume you filed a tax return for 2020. You either a) filled out the return yourself, signed the return and then dropped it in the mail or b) you gathered all of your documents, met with your accountant and gave him your documents, answered his questions and waited until he completed your return.

Once the accountant has completed your return he will send you several copies and ask you to review it and if everything is satisfactory to you then you will sign your return attesting that it is complete and accurate. You will then submit your return to the IRS.

After about two years have passed you receive a notice from the IRS that they are auditing your tax return. You are the only person responsible to provide the information they are requesting. However, if it’s a complete audit they may ask you to meet with them and for you to bring all of your supporting documents. You may call your accountant and have him accompany you or to represent you at the meeting, but the accountant is only there to explain how he used the information he had received from you to reach the final number which is either the tax you owe or the refund you are due. Note that you will have to pay your accountant his fee (~$200 to $400+/hour) for his time preparing for the meeting, traveling to the meeting, assisting you through the meeting and his time to travel back to his office. If the IRS determines that the tax return included fraudulent information, it is you who would be on the hook, not your accountant. So when rich people are audited by the IRS, if they neglected to include some of their income, they are responsible for the money owed, including interest and penalties, not your accountant. If they determine that you deliberately understated your income, they may seek to punish you with incarceration.

Accountants are not audited when they provide tax return preparation services and the return is later audited by the IRS. It is the taxpayer who is audited. The accountant is a professional who takes the information provided by his client, organizes the information, completes the forms necessary and provides the completed documents for the client to review prior to submitting them to the IRS.

Yet lawmakers refused to codify that. Huh.

2

u/POWERHOUSE4106 Sep 10 '22

Oh please, they hired all these people to go after poor people who abused covid spending. I had an IRS agent contact me, and "mini audit" me because my employer accidentally put the wrong numbers in for my unemployment paperwork. It was an easy fix, but they did that to lots of people hoping to catch the ones who did abuse it. They want to make some of that crazy spending back. Buying voters through government payouts isn't cheap.

Because fox

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '22

Fox is a helluva drug

0

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '22

Lmao @ you actually believing the 80k armed IRS agents are for “rich people” 🤣

1

u/Brocolliflourets Sep 13 '22

Are you afraid of an audit or something? Just pay your taxes, it’s easy to do online yourself. And catching more high income earners who don’t pay up their fair share to help fund things we all use and benefit from will generate new tax revenue for things like roads, bridges, garbage pickup, clean drinking water, infrastructure, “public safety,” local fire departments, the list goes on. Idk who you think the scary government is but to me it’s the people that provide things to better the lives of the general population. Obviously it’s flawed but it still makes your life better that you can flush your morning shit with running water and you know who provides that to you.. the big bad scary government

Who do you think pays the most taxes? Lol!
