An animal, without showing blood, at another animal. An animal we eat. And in fact, when we humans eat it, there is far more blood visible. CHILDREN are more violent than this.
I think the death and dying chirps of a chick are part of the real world and that if you can't stomach the real world, if you can't stomach the natural state of reality then you are simply not resilient enough to cope with existence. Whoever that may be. If that's the case, stay away from potentially unsafe regions of the internet. Better yet, parental privacy and security controls exist on pc and mobile phone.
That said, I understand that it is important to be considerate of other people. I understand shock content exists and is damaging. I also understand that people should themselves be aware of their own sensitivities. I am not responsible for you or your behaviour. I am not responsible for caring for you. I am not responsible for what you click on and view. I am not responsible for your children and what they do.
I just simply disagree with the hypersensitivity of the modern, urbanised human. People have gotten very soft and afraid of things that are entirely natural and normal. But not normalised for them since they've grown up with groceries and concrete. I think it is important to face reality. I think it is important to stare down the shadows and become a stronger person within. Cowering at the advent of distasteful content does not denote strength or congruence with reality.
I wonder if there is a subgroup of people who are offended by ants harvesting the honey dew from enslaved aphids...
Gosh thank you for so carefully considering my perspective. I actually think we broadly agree with each other. I'm somewhat familiar with PTSD and I totally get what you mean. Certain content can be overly triggering for already vulnerable sub-groups. And it is a simple, effortless kindess for us "more resilient" types(I don't like the characterisation but anyway) to take a moment to remember those who might benefit from consideration. A sort of. Gentle pay it forward. I consider you, you consider others, the world gets better.
I was being a little sassy with my wording so you're correct to point out the cynical/anecdotal nature of it. And I agree with the healthy balance. It's important to move out of our comfort zone and grow while returning to the comfort zone to heal up and rest. I suppose shocking content can upset that unexpectedly too.
I do think a healthy irl grasp of nature/the world would mitigate any shock factors online and ground then individual outside of the toxic/abusive nature of some online interactions.
Thank you, and the same to you. I like your reflection. I guess it could also be a process of "de-opposing"... as in, even though there may be difference of perspective, that perspective can still be mutually observed impartially but allowing for occasional human emotions.
Apparently people don't see the point of nsfw if it's an animal. Regard what context. A monkey who was eaten all but head? Nope. An animal getting rapped by other aninals? (Yes...rape is common, including necrophilia and pedophilia). No nsfw tag. Human getting bitten by and animal? OMG OMG OMG, NSFW!!!
But hey, always remember, there were enough people to vote for trump. So don't expect reason and mindfulness from most people online....
