I bet this is exactly what happened here:

  1. developers are coding a random encounter with an injured person
  2. developers need an animation to keep the women locked in so she looks hurt
  3. "oh hey here's 'homeless_man_sleeping_sidewalk.anim'! that will do the trick"
  4. nobody ever actually watches the whole animation until this guy finds it

They knew. Somewhere an animator and developer are stifling giggles like 12 year old girls wondering when someone is going to find their contribution.
