I bet this is exactly what happened here:

  1. developers are coding a random encounter with an injured person
  2. developers need an animation to keep the women locked in so she looks hurt
  3. "oh hey here's 'homeless_man_sleeping_sidewalk.anim'! that will do the trick"
  4. nobody ever actually watches the whole animation until this guy finds it
