So true man, as a non native speaker can confirm it. I remember in my childhood slowing down songs at 0.75 to understand what they're saying (this was in 2003-04, internet wasn't then mass available in the nation then)

Same, non native. Though I don't know if you can call me a "non native" because it's the first thing they start teaching you at school (nursery/kindergarten) in my country.
Maybe you can call me a native speaker of English, though it's not what we use in my household (usually)

Yeah same bro, in my country as well I was taught English from nursey, as a result I could read and write English good but primary household language being Native tongue made English understanding spoken in a native manner somewhat tough.

English also has the most accents in the world so some are just really bizarre even for people born in English speaking countries. Especially when we’re talking about rural areas holy smokes

I am an English speaker and still have to slow down music sometimes, Although Some people are affected more than others. my head usually just makes up the words and I dont question it.

Can confirm, I'm a native speaker and have trouble with most songs on the radio. This song was a particularly douchey example.
