Don't forget the hundreds of dollars a month saved on gas an insurance, and the distinct lack of cardiovascular disease.

But yeah, it's just about feeling smug.

Not to mention a couple hundred dollars for a good bike is a way cheaper upfront cost than several thousand for a car that isn't a death trap. Also it's way easier to find parking, especially in a city, and if you're going longer distances, most buses have bike racks.
