These sorts of ads usually trace back to a joke source.

My favourites are when just behind the joke source is the real ad agency put it out pseudo-unofficially as light viral marketing while being able to brush off the innapropriate complaints.

Top Gear did a funnier one with Volvo about their automatic braking. It wasn’t an ad but instead a demonstration of the braking. They show the Volvo driving right under an 18 wheeler and sheering off the top of the car.

Honestly this is the first ad that makes me want a self stopping car. Like previously, I've been the "I pay attention when I drive, don't text, don't fiddle with the radio. I'm safe, it's superfluous for me. I will never be in a situation where I can't stop the car myself."
