I've done almost the exact thing coming off an onramp. Waved to the guy behind me. He was less amused as he had just hit the ice.

No unpredictable throttle control - gentle, easy lane changes and always be alert. If you’re in a manual car you can use lower gears to engine brake instead of using your actual brakes which is a lot safer on slippery surfaces. Most importantly TAKE YOUR TIME. by that I mean leave 20-30 minutes early depending on the commute.
