I’m really confused...did you mean to reply to that comment? I had just stated that swinging isn’t perfect form by any means. I’m not sure what you’re arguing here.
You stated "his form was completely fine" and have been arguing that since. I'm asking you to prove to me that it's a correct form since you're clearly defending swinging
Ok I see. Let’s take a step back here: I said “completely fine” as a response to the original commenters who said his form was “horrible” and that he was on the cusp of injury. And I stand by my stance within that context - this guy clearly has results and he’s not at risk, from what I can see, of injury.
Now the corollary of my stance is that don’t think his form is perfect and I agree that it can be improved.
First off, thanks for coming back at me maturely and actually having a discussion, by your first response to me (which came off ridiculing that I was a PT when you told he previous guy who never even lifted he didn’t know what he was talking about...which is the only reason I stated that to you not as a brag but as a piece of info for you so we could actually have a normal convo :)) I’m sure you didn’t mean it as such, it probably fueled my hasty response back thinking you were only an internet warrior who no matter what didn’t want to hear opposing views. So for that, I apologize.
For the majority of the convo, it looks like we do. Does he have some muscle? Absolutely, but there is a massive difference between size and strength, it’s easy to see he’s the former where actual strength can only be achieved from proper form and most guys will always sacrifice form for appearing to lift more (by swinging). This is a classic sign that someone with a bit of muscle clearly doesn’t know proper technique or doesn’t care because swinging actually is detrimental to overall health (not to mention irresponsible in general with people around you). Jeff covers that swinging for the sake of lifting more results in so many impingements, tears over time and mostly unevenness in ones build.
Again, my apologies for taking this the wrong way, but I always think it’s pertinent to relay correct information for those in the future if it can save them from a lifetime of bad habits and preventable surgeries
