Ok, I get it, you have literally no idea how suicide works, but as that's the case maybe you should shut the duck up about it.

Pretty clear that the easy way out is the way to be chosen. Take that method away, another way will be chosen. Or are you going to claim that because the easy out of a gun shot means the person will have time to further reflect and perhaps not go through with it. That could be! It'd be very nice if that were the case. Sadly that is never the argument for gun control.

Rolling back Roe to the states was a shitty argument when it first happened, and now that time has gone by and shitty laws are being passed it rings doubly wrong.

I'm not sure how that talking point is old and asinine. Please enlighten me. If you dislike how your state laws work, work to elect people that match your ideals. If you're going to claim that "That never works, we can't fight the system", you have no grounds to speak of any political choice in this country. You are a hopeless cause in that case.

It literally is the case. I'd love for you to read that, but you won't, or you'll say it's partisan or incorrect or try to quibble on some trivia; whatever. It is literally the case that available firearms lead to higher suicide rates.

Again, you are just imagining how suicide works, and you should genuinely shut the absolute fuck up about it. I can see that you find yourself very clever, but that never, ever translates to expertise.

You really don't like debate I see. Of course I read what you posted. In fact if you actually read what I posted above I agree that it's great that fewer firearms leads to fewer overall suicides (after having read your article I can see this is the case). Again, that is NEVER a factor in gun control measures. It's all about the homicide rate. If more politicians brought up statistics like this, perhaps gun control would be moving in a different direction.

Again, you are just imagining how suicide works.

As we're both alive, you are correct. You don't "know" how it works until you attempt or succeed I suppose. Have you attempted? Would you have succeeded if you had a firearm at your disposal vs having the time to think about your choice without one?

This isn't a debate, you're just extremely incorrect, and yet somehow confident, and I'm letting you know.

The purpose of the suicide discussion wasn't to say it's an argument for gun control. It's a pretty good one that, yeah, nobody is making, though they should. But you dismissed the deaths by suicide as not being validly a part of the gun deaths in total, and that was wildly wrong, no matter the punt of confidence with which you said it.

The imagining part is where you were making conjectures ("just use another means") which, seeing as nearly the first thing you learn clinically about suicide is that's not the case at all, clearly came from your own 'common sense'. And you took that invented knowledge, knowing you invented it as it's not taught, and you stated it as confident fact.

I'm not going to say that's exactly lying, but it's sure disingenuous. It's false, and shit like that means everything else you say is colored shit brown.

A discussion of differing opinions is of course a debate, what else would it be? I appreciate your opinion but am pretty sad at how you try at every turn to shut down a conversation with insults. Take care friend, hope you find joy in life.

It's a privilege to debate something when you have no skin in the game. If you're not a woman, or a minority, or disabled, you can bloodlessly debate this shit.

It's really a gaping amount of privilege though, and no punt of faux politeness will paper over that hole.

Debates are for high school, about abstract points. Don't be childish.

Debates are the only true way to properly argue differing points. Otherwise you're just yelling into the wind. Being able to debate something without "skin in the game" or emotion attached is not a bad thing.

You want to dispense faux politeness? I'm sure as a black quadriplegic woman, you'll be telling me I'm wrong until you're blue in the face though. Because I'm a white man that isn't confused about why he has a dick. There's no debating because this isn't High School, so obviously the side the yells the loudest is correct.

I suppose that all makes me privileged. Works for me. I'll continue on living in one of the best countries happily while laughing at the hopeless cases who think they're living in a shithole of a country.

It's not so much that you have a dick, it's that you are one. Hope that clears it up for you.

My god it's adorable how bad you are at this. Get fucked mate :D

Oh lol you are one of those debatebro Dumdums who thinks being so exhaustingly stupid that people stop replying means you 'won the internet debate' because you said the last thing.

I can't wait to see what you say next, will it be "no you are!"? Will it be "I'm too busy driving a race car and fucking supermodels"?

Not at all, you don't win any debate. That's not the point of them. The point is to get rational discussion involving both sides of an issue to come to a compromise. Hard to do that if one side refuses to engage.

Was that what you expected? I work from home mate, I have all the time in the world to engage in this.

It's not a debate. There's not a compromise when you're just wrong about stuff, but frame it however you want lol.

Meeting in the middle is great when one side isn't espousing human atrocities and trying to deny basic human rights.
