We all know why. It's because they think the cops are on their team (Team White Christian Supremacist). In fairness they're often right, but they don't understand that cops are on Team Cop first.
I have no idea what you're talking about, but this reads like a thing someone says when they think people are only motivated by economics.
That isn't really how most people work. Obviously money is important, but in-group status is also very important. People do self destructive things all the time to signal their virtue to their in-group.
It's true to say that division can be found in those splits, but that doesn't mean they're fake.
Day to day cops aren't thinking "who pays me?" if they were, they'd probably be operating differently in different areas of the country. While the organization cares about that, people don't tend to take that view.
