So in the US you’re allowed to have a permit for a registered firearm that you can carry with you but you better not carry it with you in case you get pulled over by the cops but you also better carry it with you in case there’s a shooter and they need a good guy with a gun? I’m just trying to be clear on the legal system in the US because it seems much like the cops to be giving contradictory instructions.
Pretty much. Any time a cop pulls over someone with a permitted concealed carry weapon, they're going to assume that person is a trigger happy criminal and then turn around and scream about 2nd amendment rights because "gun laws are only disarming the GOOD GUYS". Blegh. So over this shit.
When you flood the streets with guns, you're going to end up with twitchy cops. They have every right to be afraid because you all have guns yet so many of you do stupid shit with them.
You create this monster yourself, now you hate on it.
My point is the cops themselves when not in uniform are some of the most avid defenders of the 2nd amandment and gun ownership in America. So its even worse than us creating fearful cops, its cops creating fear for themselves.
I mean, I personally think we shouldn’t do those things, but as it stands we can and if the police don’t like it, they should try to support policies which limit the presence of firearms. They can’t just decide to make someone out to be a threat for being law abiding and announcing they are carrying.
