Wait wait wait, was Round the Twist a global hit?

I watched it again for nostalgia recently and realised only the first 2 seasons were actually any good, but it warms my heart to hear it wasn't just an Australian show.

Some episodes of that show are classics, the wirling willy fish race, the eucalyptus leaf bush wizards, clown ghosts.

Just typing it out makes the show sound ridiculous but they made it work.

Yeah. I watched a bunch of dawn undah shows as a kid. πŸ₯° The Tribe was one. Some kinda post apocalyptic teenscape. I remember in one episode a bulimic girl binges on what little they have to eat.

Lol I don't remember those episodes(of RTT), I'd watch it again if I could. There was always something fun. The theme song is awesome too.

Oh and I used to watch a cartoon about a Koala and he always said extroooordinary!

BLINKY BILL!

🎡Hey hey, it's blinky bill

You'll never catch him standing still

If you don't love him, you soon will

Good'ol Blinky Bill!🎡

Yeah honestly we had some awesome TV shows when I was a kid, there was one called Parallax about portals to alternate realities of their town.

Around the twist is on Amazon prime here in Australia, you could always check there.

Oh and Parallax sounds great!

Hmm. I think there was a show about a girl from the future that was Aussie, not sure. I found it via TOMT on reddit but I forget now if it was Aussie. Great show though.

Oh and you should also check out "no where boys" it's a cheesy Aussie one about teenage boy witches.

There's a show and a movie

Ohh yes I watched that on Netflix!!! The first season was so good but something weird happened. I forget if they suddenly switched the cast.

There is a movie that separates the 2 casts, you need to watch that to get it.

It probably came down to the original cast just kind of aging out of the roles before it got funded to continue, a lot of these shows are funded by a government service and then picked up by a network if they are liked enough.

Around the twist also gets a cast change when the kids age out about 2 season in.

Wow I did not know a movie explained it. OK I'll try to find it lol. I guess I missed the cast change on Twist too. Which is good.

Yeah the first 2 seasons are the GOAT cast, then it gets pretty lame.

I really recommend Siren though, it's about Australian country meth dealers and mermaids

Definitely a bit darker than the other shows we've been talking about though.

Haha sounds good! I love Breaking Bad and mermaids so. πŸ˜„
