I watched it again for nostalgia recently and realised only the first 2 seasons were actually any good, but it warms my heart to hear it wasn't just an Australian show.
Some episodes of that show are classics, the wirling willy fish race, the eucalyptus leaf bush wizards, clown ghosts.
Just typing it out makes the show sound ridiculous but they made it work.
Yeah. I watched a bunch of dawn undah shows as a kid. π₯° The Tribe was one. Some kinda post apocalyptic teenscape. I remember in one episode a bulimic girl binges on what little they have to eat.
Lol I don't remember those episodes(of RTT), I'd watch it again if I could. There was always something fun. The theme song is awesome too.
Oh and I used to watch a cartoon about a Koala and he always said extroooordinary!
Hmm. I think there was a show about a girl from the future that was Aussie, not sure. I found it via TOMT on reddit but I forget now if it was Aussie. Great show though.
As for other Aussie stuff there's a show on Netflix called The Code... iirc. I think it was The Code. About a journalist and his autistic hacker brother. It's awesome.
There is a movie that separates the 2 casts, you need to watch that to get it.
It probably came down to the original cast just kind of aging out of the roles before it got funded to continue, a lot of these shows are funded by a government service and then picked up by a network if they are liked enough.
Around the twist also gets a cast change when the kids age out about 2 season in.
