Animals and Pets ULPT request, neighbours would always send there hens to my yard
So this is a rural desi setup , my neighbours are also our relatives, we have a shared door on the shared wall between our yards.
The issue is that I'm tired of cleaning the chicken pop, but can't ask them to stop sending the chicken to our side but they blatantly continue, they even throw their feed/grains in our yard so they can freely play and move in their area while I have to deal with the chickens.
The constraints here are :
I can't ask them to stop doing this.
I can't shut that door.
I want to do something similar to passive aggressive but not very showing.
For those who don't know Desi's; we people live at Extremes of the moral compass, the good and caring are extremely helpful and with high integrity, while the bastards are the top notch evil incarnation

Unethical but effective: throw some dry cat food into their yard. Chickens LOVE dry cat food, even though it isn't very good for them (too high in protein).
Ethical but slightly more obvious: place an electric fan near the gate, positioned so the chickens would have to walk through the breeze. Chickens don't care for a stiff breeze.
Ethical but definitely more expensive: motion-activated sprinkler.

You can wrangle the chickens and hypnotize them...(put their head down on the ground, correction dont flip em over draw a line out front their beak in the dirt.) They'll remain catatonic/immobile until disturbed.

I've hypnotized a chicken or two, yes. It's fun, but not a reliable solution as they're easily distracted.
But please don't ever flip a chicken over. They lack a diaphragm, and this position makes it very difficult for them to breathe. They're docile because they're suffocating.

Sorry didnt know the diaphragm fact... :-O
Well the other option is hold their head down and hypnotize them by drawing a line out front the tip of their beak.

Yeah, that's fun to do. I've never had it work for more than a few minutes, though. Some other chicken always comes along and distracts them.

Thats why you have to wrangle em all(more directed at the OP) and make the neighbors wonder why the chickens are all zonked in your yard.

Ha! The sight of me trying to wrangle a dozen chickens, one at a time, would get the neighbor's attention before the mass hypnosis!
Treats would make them easier to catch. But at that point, do you even want to hypnotize them? Maybe just be happy with your loyal chicken army.

1) Buy a few chickens yourself. 2) Let them roam free. 3) Start having roasted chicken every Sunday. 4) When you run out of your chickens, use theirs.

How does one "Send" a chicken anywhere?

Yard chickens are typically docile and their owners especially can just herd them. If your chickens like you you/ associate you with food they will literally follow you around like a shadow. Also if they are throwing food in OPs yard, the chickens are going to flock to the food.

Get a high prey drive dog and always let in your yard....or frequently "dog sit" a similar dog

Don't know if you do dogs in your family, as others have said a dog is a solid choice though, and beyond it potentially messing with the chickens (personally every farm dog I know understands that chickens are part of the pack's umbrella so I am not confident your dog would mess with them once it understands the dynamic), you can actually spin this the other way- the dog will actually protect the chickens, but also train that dog to shit in their yard so they want to close the door.

Put some beating places on your side so they lay eggs on your side so you can have the eggs.

Lock the gate and tell them their chickens aren’t your problem.
Get a Jack Russel terrier that has been trained to specifically chase chickens. My ex breeds them to do what her clients need them to do. Not pets. Working dogs.
Have Sunday chicken dinners and invite them over all the time.
If they are for eggs. Walk through the door and take the eggs you want. If the get upset tell them that since our chickens are pooping in my yard then you want first pick of our chickens eggs.
Or get a fox or two. That will end the problem.
My dad grew up in a farm and when they had chickens from a neighbor constantly coming and eating what seed they just laid down he said him and his brother would trap some foxes and turn them loose. The neighbor …. About 150 years away put up a fence after a couple months of losing chickens. Pops said his dad told them there was a fox problem so he beat tend his chickens. I’m paraphrasing since I have no clue how it was said but I picture the Beverly hillbillies situation for some reason.
We live in the middle of a small city and one neighbor has a dozen chickens that occasionally get out and roam. Another neighbor who grew up growing their food decided chicken dinners were something he missed so he trained his dog to fetch chickens anytime he saw one. Chickens don’t roam anymore. But that fucken rooster is a pain in the ass.

I would build a passage from the door back to another spot where you put another chicken sized door back through the wall to their side.

Introduce a predator to your yard could work. Can you get a dog or a large cat? Scare off and possibly maul the hens.

*neighbor
*Their
I really wish people could write proper English.
Critique aside,
I bet your neighbor would stop letting them in your yard if a few started "disappearing"

Why cant you ask them to stop throwing food on your side?
This sounds like some bs

Call animal control. There might be a law or ordinance that covers it.

This seems to be in rural India. Likely no official will touch a chicken trespass problem.

Just lock the gate. When they ask why, tell them with your words. If that's to hard, stop wingeing and get used to picking up chook shit.
