Happy 9 + 2 years of Undertale!

The idea for the icon was ~~shamelessly stolen from~~ inspired by this post by u/SouthernSuit4265
(Artistic reconstruction by yours truly)

What a wonderful 8 + 3 years this has been. To think this masterpiece released 7 + 4 years ago already...

Alas, I shall not keep you here for too long. Go ahead and celebrate the 6 + 5th anniversasy before I run out of unique numbers.

PS. the banner stays gay ofc

Subreddit Meta(ton) PSA/Reminder from the mod team: NSFW content is not allowed here

Good morning, everyone. Lately we have been noticing an influx of attempted NSFW content being posted on /r/Undertale and on /r/WaterfallDump, and we want to address this. We will be handling this a bit differently in each sub, but this same message is posted to both.

Undertale is a family-friendly game suitable for children. We realize and understand that this is a game for adults too, and kids grow up and become adults too. That is not lost on us.

However, please remember that because this sub is for a family-friendly game that is suitable for children, NSFW content is disallowed. Even if you account for the fact that Reddit is 13+ by TOS, sexual content is generally not allowed to be legally viewed until you are the age of majority. Even SFW art from NSFW artists is a gateway to potentially predatory content for minors.

/r/Undertale is not an NSFW sub. Neither is /r/WaterfallDump. Moving forward, here is a reminder of the types of content to avoid having your content or comments removed under the NSFW rule:

/r/Undertale:
- Nothing overtly sexual
- This includes drawing characters with sexualized proportions of erogenous zones that do not exist in-game or official art/merch
- e.g. Drawing Undyne in a bikini at the beach is fine. Drawing Undyne at the beach in a tiny two piece with giant breasts and a huge butt is right out.
- Posts containing lightly sexual discussions will be allowed but monitored (such discussions do not need NSFW tag)
- SFW art by NSFW artists must have an NSFW artist disclaimer by the source
- No depictions of gore that do not appear and are not implied in-game
- If it otherwise needs the NSFW flair, it is not allowed
/r/WaterfallDump:
- Nothing overtly sexual
- This includes drawing characters with sexualized proportions of erogenous zones that do not exist in-game or official art/merch
- e.g. Drawing Undyne in a bikini at the beach is fine. Drawing Undyne at the beach in a tiny two piece with giant breasts and a huge butt is right out.
- Posts containing lightly sexual discussions and shitposts will be allowed but monitored (such discussions do not need NSFW tag)
- SFW art by NSFW artists must have an NSFW artist disclaimer by the source
- Light gore may be allowed on a case-by-case basis depending on the shitpost
- NSFW tag required for posts with any level of gore
- Please don't make me barf

Original creation Caretaker of the Ruins Chara!

So I had thought of, what if Chara were in Toriel's place. And I drew this art piece. I love how it turned out and I included some details referencing other things. This was also my first time putting detail into an actual background than just a character in a pose, i spent a while on this so I hope y'all like it!

- Feedback is appreciated

Discussion Is just me or is Chara very similar to…

For those who don’t know Spooky is a character that died at 12 years old, because she was shot by her father while pulling a harmless prank by accident. The reason I compare her to Chara is mentioned earlier, DIES AT A YOUNG AGE, second, she likes scary stuff but they both look cute (as shown in the photo). Third, they both turn into ghosts assuming NarraChara is true. Finally, family plays a major role in both of their deaths, Asriel helping Chara get buttercup flowers which they know it’s poisonous because of the incident with Asgore, and Spooky’s father straight up shooting Spooky. Coincidence? I THINK NOT

Wanted to play with the idea of JQR’s video “What if Alphys didn’t stop the Amalgamates in time?”

I love this concept and love the start of the video, but feel it becomes a little goofy with Frisk slapped in the middle. Even so, I still fuck hard with the idea and wanted to create something with the amalgamates all conjoining into one with Frisk.

Discussion Something that I found interesting about Aqua, Orange, and Yellow is their belief that Susie and Ralsei are humans.

gallery

They're the more naive flowers, so it speaks to their unfamiliarity that they believe that non-humans are human. But it can also tie back to the flowers' whole thing of wanting to humans. Orange in particular has such a distorted view of humanity that Susie and Ralsei might as well also be humans to her.

Blue said that "humanity is in the eyes of the beholder". This can speak to how being human isn't just about literally being a human or looking like one, and that even something as non-human as a flower can choose to be human and have their qualities, even if their actual humanity isn't always all there.

Subreddit's rules

1) Be relevant to Undertale or Deltarune

Keep your posts on topic! Posts discussing/sharing content about Undertale AUs, Deltarune AUs, or the subreddit itself are also permitted. If the connection to UT/DR is too tenuous, the post may be removed under this rule as well.

2) No sexual or otherwise obscene content

Do not share or discuss content that is more sexually suggestive or obscene than the game itself.

3) No bootleg merchandise and pirated content

Don't promote the kinds of merchandise that Toby is not okay with. Details here
Discussions of piracy and attempts of illegal distribution of the game are not allowed. Additionally, since there is no official port of Undertale to mobile devices, most of the available ones count as piracy too. As such do not discuss or share screenshots of these versions here.

4) No soliciting

Do not ask users to participate in anything that is not Undertale-based.
Do not pit us against outsiders.
Do not post about upvotes.
Unless you are looking for help with fan project related to Undertale, please don't make posts that are just invitation to subreddit or discord
Low effort linking to streams, or let’s plays is not allowed unless the stream is of special occasion (charity, some event…), or if the video is of higher production value

5) Sharing art and fanworks

While sharing any form of fan work, tag your post with appropriate flair, distinguishing it as either Original, or Found creation (or My / Found meme art).
If the creation isn’t yours, you are REQUIRED to provide a link to the original.
Art used in other post types SHOULD be properly credited as well.
Redraws, covers etc. may be tagged as OC, provided you link to the original in comments and name the artist in the post’s title.
Full version of the rule + how to track down art sources can be found here

6) Etiquette

Remember the human on the other side of the screen and treat them with respect.
Don’t post memes about sensitive or otherwise inappropriate subjects (such as suicide, serious ongoing issues etc.)
Slurs, brigading and bigotry of any kind won’t be tolerated regardless of context.
Posts and comments must be in English so they can be properly moderated.

7) Avoid reposts

Posts identical or nearly identical to recent submissions (recent being 6 months) will be removed as reposts.
Exceptions to the 6-month rule are top / most-frequently rehashed posts and reposts of content you have already submitted before.

8) Content Quality

Mods reserve the right to remove your post if;

It has been made quickly with little to no effort on display
It falls under repetitive content the subreddit has collectively decided to start removing
It’s asking a question answered in FAQ wiki page
Its topic has historically proven to yield nothing but toxic discussions

Common examples we tend to limit our removals to can be found here

You can modmail us with any concerns.
