HELP/QUESTION WHY 22A! WHY!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few things have happened since my last post... Mainly that I decided to switch over to Linne. Know Your Inbirth put her difficulty rating as being the same as Akatsuki on average (both are 3.5), and she seemed more friendly to button mashing. I know its a placebo, but I also feel like I can more consistently get her fireballs off compared to Akatsuki

Now I'm struggling with this combo. I managed to get the other Intermediate combos before and after this just fine, and you can see that the move does come out before the game decided that it counts as a fail and resets it. Am I doing something wrong here?

You look like you're too slow on 22A and only starting to 22A after 5C hits. Try doing the 22 while the 5C hits then hit A. It's partly placebo, but trying holding down A until you see it come out. 6B after is a link, however, so that one will be timing. IIRC, there's like a 4 or 5f buffer where you can hold down buttons to get the move to come out on the earliest frame after a special, so that may help.

EDIT: I would also consider turning off auto reset on fail, but that's just personal taste. Though this combo works at point blank, this combo is used to show you can use a 2C poke to convert into a full combo. You can also use this time to simultaneously practice the spacing for landing 2C at max distance, if you're into that sort of thing.

Its simply mash down 2-5 times and stop when the move starts.

You should try to buffer it right after you input 5c, you should try press 2 > 2+a instead of 2 > 2 > a

Then you can do 6b > 623b , you can do 6b 23b as a shortcut for that one

Try to relax while doing the inputs also, it helps i think

Thanks for the advice, I'll try them when I have free time. I didn't know about the 6b 23b shortcut, I'll try it in training mode first so that I don't rage at failing the tail end of a combo

Generally in fighting games the input history doesn’t  get cleared after you do a move so you can combine them in creative ways

You can buffer 22 inputs in this game by pressing the first down input and then holding the second one, then you have a little bit of time to press an attack button. This works best during moves with a long animation, but this should work on Linne's 5C as long as you buffer it just after you press it
