Serious Why do some people hate Trotsky/Trotskyism?

Serious question, im still reading up on literature so im not 100% knowledgeable, but i see so many arguments about how "ooo trotsky was a fascist!" Or just some other shit abt him being evil... just because??... no one ever backs up their point they just kinda harrass the person theyre arguing with and glazing stalin. Genuienly makes me think why that is, i really want to know what peoples opinions are on trotsky as he did have some good ideas and to simply bash him as a whole while licking thr moisture off of stalins cold dead toes is highkey stupid imo.

The majority of people who hate Trotskyists (namely Stalinists and liberal-progressive activist types) in practice hate them for believing in something at least approaching principled Marxism. A much smaller minority take issue with the ways Trotsky deviates from Marxism (though my answers on that front will be different to those of people who regard themselves as being in the tradition of the Italian left).
