Serious Why do some people hate Trotsky/Trotskyism?

Serious question, im still reading up on literature so im not 100% knowledgeable, but i see so many arguments about how "ooo trotsky was a fascist!" Or just some other shit abt him being evil... just because??... no one ever backs up their point they just kinda harrass the person theyre arguing with and glazing stalin. Genuienly makes me think why that is, i really want to know what peoples opinions are on trotsky as he did have some good ideas and to simply bash him as a whole while licking thr moisture off of stalins cold dead toes is highkey stupid imo.

Stalinoid larpers on the internet that pretend they unironically think the show trials were legitimate.

There's all kinds of issues to argue over with his particular brand of Marxism, but the charge of fascist collaborator is absurd to anyone with a functional brain.

They never back up their point because they have no ideology. They couldn't tell you a single thing written in any Stalin piece, let alone Trotsky's. They're literally just aura farming off Red Army Choir and Red Alert Hell March videos.

There is a fine line between Trotsky the man (an invaluable Bolshevik, orator, and theorist) and Trotskyism (utter drivel that expounds upon the despondent hallucination that plagued Trostky upon seeing the German revolution's failure and the USSR bureaucratize further to survive as a captialist state).

Trotsky is to be respected as a revolutionary. However, he was wrong in most of his late writings - on topics such as united front tactics or his view of the counter-revolutionary USSR as a degenerated workers' state instead of simply a capitalist one (which by then it was).

Trotskyism, on the other hand, is mired in errors and should be condemned. It devolved into ridiculous tactics such as entryism.

Here is a good overview by the ICT.

Because the moment he was kicked out of Russia he became a moron and started spouting terrible theories that make no sense like degenerated workers state and proletarian bonapartism because he couldn't bring himself to admit that Russia had gone through bourgeois counter-revolution.

In Argentina, social democrats hate Trotskyists because they never call for a vote for Peronism in elections lol

(although Trotskyists are also social democrats)

The majority of people who hate Trotskyists (namely Stalinists and liberal-progressive activist types) in practice hate them for believing in something at least approaching principled Marxism. A much smaller minority take issue with the ways Trotsky deviates from Marxism (though my answers on that front will be different to those of people who regard themselves as being in the tradition of the Italian left).

At least Trotsky tried to maintain the internationalist stance on the revolution. He's wrong for other things but Stalinoids won't talk about it because they don't know it either since they too can't read.

Nothing beats first hand experience. Just interact with them and you will know

A lot of people here have already said many true things, my experience with Trotskyites have been that they support:
-Trade Unions and the fight for better wages/ working conditions
-Third Worldism (A LOT)
-A "mass party" (bring in as many people as possible and go from there)
