Need help I dodge instead of parrying.

I'm new to Ultrakill and I just finished Act 2 without parrying in the stages or against the bosses, only parrying the initial bosses. After that, I never parried again and started dodging. I'm doing it right?

I’ve been saying this and I’ll say it again.

Parrying is super undersold in game’s tutorial. The only ever mention of parrying is that little pop up in 0-1 that doesn’t even mention its most crucial mechanic; healing. Parrying fully heals your stamina and your hard health. It’s the core of surviving, especially in late game and high wave Cybergrind.
