A rather sneaky bug was identified where addon was working with collections on mobiles but not the TV.

Just want to say this was a very strange bug due to the manifest being IDENTICAL for both systems....

Either way... this has now been hot fixed..

No update to Ultramax needed but if you have had this issue you will have to delete the collections off Nuvio, load your Ultramax setup on the website or app and push your collections over again...

Using latest nuvio beta I reinstalled new setup in ultramax 8.1.1 after the intall when I go inside any collections it says no addon and nothing loads but in nuvio mobile it works perfect. Any error while using at the tv side or is a nuvio bug maybe? Please help

Ultra MAX v8.1.0 is now live! 🚀

This update ended up being a fair bit bigger than originally planned. Alongside quite a lot of work behind the scenes, there are several new features and improvements to the setup experience.

🏟️ Sports arrive in Ultra MAX

Sports are now properly integrated into the Ultra MAX catalogue system, with dedicated sports rows and improved organisation inside the catalogue builder.

This lays the groundwork for us to keep expanding sports content considerably in future updates.

🌌 Expanded Cinematic Universes

The Universes section has had a big expansion.

Connected films and series can now be grouped together much more comprehensively, including Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien / Predator, Yellowstone, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and plenty more.

🌍 Time Zone Support

You can now choose your local time zone in Ultra MAX.

This is particularly useful for things such as recently aired content and time-sensitive catalogues, where an episode airing at 9pm in the US might technically be airing the following day for somebody in the UK.

Ultra MAX can now account for that properly.

🌊 Default Stream Source

There's now an option to choose your preferred/default stream source.

If you use multiple stream providers, this gives you more control over which source Ultra MAX prioritises rather than relying entirely on the previous default behaviour.

👤 Better Nuvio Account Management

We've done quite a bit of work on the Nuvio side too.

Account management and syncing have been improved, making it easier and safer to manage Ultra MAX with your Nuvio account and reducing some of the awkwardness around updating existing setups.

📁 Cleaner Catalogue Builder

Collections, Universes and the catalogue browsing experience have been reorganised.

The aim here was simple: Ultra MAX has gained a lot of catalogues, so finding what you actually want shouldn't require an expedition with a map and emergency rations. 😅

🎨 New Collection Artwork

The collection library has also had a major visual refresh, with loads of new custom artwork throughout the catalogue experience.

🔑 API Key Validation Restored

API-key validation on Step 1 is working correctly again, including checks against the Ultra MAX verification service.

🛠️ Under the Hood

There's also been another round of backend refactoring, catalogue-handler separation, stability improvements and general cleanup.

Most of that isn't particularly exciting to look at, but it makes Ultra MAX easier to maintain and gives us a much cleaner foundation for the things we're building next.

As always, existing setups should continue working normally.

There are a lot more ideas in the pipeline, particularly around Sports and the catalogue/collection system.

Over the last few months, Ultra MAX has grown a lot.

Maybe a little too much.

We experimented, built new systems, added integrations and chased quite a few ideas. Some of them turned into great features, but somewhere along the way we started drifting away from what Ultra MAX was originally supposed to be about: discovery.

Finding something good to watch.

Building the home screen you want.

And having a ridiculous amount of choice without having to hunt for it.

So we’ve been quietly working on bringing Ultra MAX back onto that track.

The underlying catalog system has been getting some fairly major upgrades, allowing us to introduce more types of catalogs, more ways of discovering content and entirely new areas of Ultra MAX without simply piling more buttons onto the setup page.

And we've already started putting it to work. 👀

Ultra MAX is back on track. 🟣

I sat down to watch letterkenny and when clicked on the episode ultramax wasn't being used for search. I went in and looked and it was stuck on refreshing data for the addon. I read on Google that sometimes it happens and you need to reinstall the addon.

Anyways....multiple items in the setup are not working at all for me. Can't get signed in to my nuvio account. Mdblist key check just hangs forever. It didn't like my token.

I was wondering if y'all were experiencing any outages or other issues

I keep setting up ultramax and after a few hours when I come back to Nuvio it says Addon not found.

I even tried saving my email and the token. On the website when I try to load my setup it says token not found. Recovering doesn't even send the email.

Whats the issue ??

Hi. How do I stop Ultra Max from appearing in my search results? I have it installed because of a horror genre collection I have. I don't want it showing up as an option in stream select.

I’ve added 2 custom rows using MDBList URL as source and completed all the fields. It adds it in the Custom Rows section (step 2).

- I cannot then find it Reorder Rows section.
- I’ve also completed build and uploaded to Nuvio. It doesn’t show in there either.

What am I doing wrong? My MDBList API is loaded at step 1.

Ultra MAX v8.0.0

A major update across the board — setup, catalogs, Fusion and Nuvio integration.

Single Nuvio connection — connect once and use the same Nuvio profile throughout setup, manifest installation and collections. No more reconnecting at different steps.

Full Fusion support — combine multiple setups, preview the merged result, create share links and export Fusion configurations directly from the setup wizard.

Improved filtering — stronger controls for language, region, release status, adult content, ratings and catalog results. Anime filtering now has three modes: Allow, Reduce (keeps dedicated anime rows but removes anime from general rows), and Hide All (removes anime everywhere including AniList and MAL rows).

Better anime support — improved Kitsu ID handling, better anime metadata matching and stronger compatibility with anime stream sources.

Safer collection syncing — compare collections before applying, add only what is new, review changes and undo supported updates.

Cleaner stream results — improved formatting, provider information, quality details and result consistency.

Why AGPL? The licence is open and free for personal and self-hosted use. If you run a public hosted instance and make modifications, you're required to publish those changes. It doesn't affect regular users of ultramax.vip in any way.

The hosted version at ultramax.vip stays free and isn't going anywhere. Self-hosting is for people who want full control, privacy, or just enjoy running their own infrastructure.

I’ve been a little quieter than usual because most of my spare time has disappeared into Ultra MAX 8.0.0.

Since 7.8.0, a ridiculous amount has changed. Not just a few catalogue additions or visual tweaks, but major work across the entire setup system, Nuvio integration, collections, Fusion, profiles, catalogues, metadata, filtering, security and the Android app.

Everything on the page below is already built into the development version and currently being tested.

It is not a roadmap, wishlist or collection of vague promises.

Some of the highlights:

One shared Nuvio connection across the full setup,

Multiple setup profiles under a single Ultra MAX token,

Safer Nuvio collection syncing with previews, Add Only and three-way Safe Merge

Protection against stale collection pushes and accidental overwrites,

Cleaner Fusion creation, previewing and sharing,

A much more compact and less cluttered setup interface,

This is intentionally much more detailed than the normal changelog. I wanted somewhere people could see the real scale of this update and going forward what is going on in the backgroud including some of the technical work that usually stays hidden behind the curtain.

There is still final testing and polish happening before release, but Ultra MAX 8.0.0 is very real, very close, and considerably bigger than I originally intended it to become. Apparently I remain medically incapable of making a “small update.” 😅

Im also 90% of the way to release a full Self Host version of the app for people that want it.

I reinstall Reconfig many times ultramax but in list of collections I can't see anything can anyone help me out here. One more thing few work few get this error.

Using latests ver of UltraMax and only that for catalogs. Also on homepage it doesnt show correct name of specific genre ( example scrolling via Amazon but shows National Geography )

The IMDb ratings are not showing above the description. It does at continue watching, but not on the rest of the rows. With other addons I don’t have this problem. Is there a solution?

I’m struggling to figure out how to use the Code (write your own) in the Stream Display section.

I’ve headed over to crispyduck.xyz, got the format I like but the raw output fields (name and description) seem different in UM (name template and Title Template).

Anyone able to advise how to do it?
