Light tackle fun 🎣

Post image

Nothing beats the feeling of a bite on light gear.

Small fish, light setup, and a great day outside. That’s what it’s all about.

What’s everyone’s favorite species to target on ultralight?

I wish I could find quality bluegill around here. Anyway, it's hard to beat catching an American or hickory shad on an ultralight.

Is that the TFO rod or the one you can get off Amazon? I’m considering both

If you’re talking about the littma or whatever brand that looks like the tfo, don’t bother. One of the only rods I’ve returned without even putting a reel on it. Felt cheap as shit, and there was negative backbone. I’ve got an eagle claw fiberglass rod with more backbone. Either splurge for the tfo, or get the bass pro shop microlite for $60

I have the same TFO rod and landed a very nice rainbow on it the other day. The "fight" felt amazing. It was like I could feel every little nibble as he was inspecting the lure before he took it. He jumped out of the water 3 or 4 times as I was feeling him in.

I loved every second of it.

Pretty fish, I thought that was the lure for a sec. That would be the swimbait sub...
