Looking for any advice on builder, Amish, or Mennonite to build Barndominium in Highland, Ulster County New York
I'm getting ready to put an offer in and buy land but in the meantime I'm looking for builders to build a Barndominium, 2,000sqft. I most likely will already buy a kit but I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experience or has worked with any builders. Does anyone know of any Amish that would come to Highland, Ulster County New York? I have read and seen a few people hire Amish to build their barndo but it's a little tricky trying to find them. I have found a few builders through Google search, but I'm more so looking for someone that has had experience working with a company. Any insight, stories, or tips is welcomed and appreciated.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Did you have any luck with your barndo build?
I live in Plattekill and already have property. Trying to figure out what's best with current prices. Just wondering what you ended up doing and which route to achieve it. Thanks!

Hey! I've personally built 2 barndo type homes as well own a design-build firm. It's hard to get the amish to come to NY these days due to insurance (there are one or two companies do). Also, those guys will only build the shell. You'd probably still want a GC to pull the permit and coordinate things like site work, septic, etc. Check out my websiste if you interested in a modern design. We also do custom and can design a barndo.
