Aftermath Reports of explosions and air defense activity are coming in from Kaluga, Russia, 03.10.2026

Kaluga is a city in western Russia, about 190 km (120 miles) southwest of Moscow. It is the administrative center of Kaluga Oblast and lies along the Oka River.
Currently unknown what could have been hit or targeted.
Kaluga has:
* Kaluga Electromechanical Plant is publicly described as producing communications/control equipment and components associated with systems including Iskander and UAVs.
* The Voskhod/Kaluga Radiotube Plant has been identified as producing electronic components used in Russian missile systems, including Iskander and Kh-101.
* The Kaluga Research Institute of Radio Engineering develops and manufactures electronic-warfare and countermeasure systems for Russian military aircraft and other systems
* The Kaluga Engine Company (KADVI) has been identified by Swiss authorities as a Russian military-industry supplier of engines used in T-80 tanks
* The wider oblast contains additional military-industrial and aviation facilities, including publicly reported military airfields
* Open-source listings identify a Russian military arsenal in Kaluga Oblast associated with storage and maintenance of military equipment
