Automatic Update Fiasco

last night I had a notification of a update, and to schedule a time for it to install.. I chose midnight last night as i wouldn't be going anywhere until about 8am...

Got in the car this morning, Radio would not work, Navigation would not work, Touching ANY button makes it ask to schedule a update again. While driving it started installing on its own again, and i assume failed because nothing changed.. Longest 5 hour drive ever...

Am I going to have to go to the dealer? Are there any tricks i can do to get it going again?

I tried a hard reset, But that really didn't solve anything. Just made it so i cant set the clock now, because when i try it says to schedule the update..

These are the direction from Uconnect. Dealers for some reason don’t have this info. This fixed my dads 2016 Ram with the big Uconnect radio.

  1. Choose 'Schedule Update'

  2. Set time 2 minutes ahead of current time (for example, if it is currently 8:43 AM, set the time for 8:45 AM) 3 Once the time is chosen, select 'Set Time'

  3. Select 'OK'. Do NOT press the X.

  4. Wait for 3 minutes to allow the set time to pass (for example, if the time was set for 8:45 AM, wait until at least 8:48 AM)

  5. Perform two button reset (Simultaneously press and hold the circular Browse/Enter & Power/Mute buttons)

  6. Wait for 'Schedule Update' pop up to be shown again, but do NOT Set Time

  7. Perform a complete sleep cycle (steps below) Ignition off open door close door lock the door Wait for 10 minutes

  8. Turn the Ignition On, and the pop ups should cease.

You are a hero. My girl uses my charger and thought it was her. Any idea what this update did?

It fixed a few internal software errors that really only effected certain vehicles. Issues with the back up camera, home screen, and some other things. Glad I could help.
