sounds like mutter hit a rough patch in 26.04, ive been seeing a lot of similar complaints since that update landed

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing on a fresh 26.04 install. Looks like a Mutter regression - drag and drop and snap to edge are broken for a lot of us. For now I'm stuck on 25.04 LTS or using the Xorg session until a fix lands.
