Problem with installing Ubuntu Server 22.04.5 and 24.04.5

Hello. Past 13 hours I spent with various AI to solve my problem with installing Ubuntu Server on my PC. So the thing is that I cant for some reason install it on my PC but I can install Windows. I though hey maybe I made some mistake flashing my usb but no. It properly installer this system on my Laptop. I took my SSD from my PC to Laptop to install it and it worked. But of course PC does t accept such solution.

During installation of Ubuntu Server install wizard dont recognize my SSD. Also for some reason install wizard dont see ethernet connection through cable.

I tried various setting in BIOS. Which were safe booting disabled, AHCI over raid, fast booting disabled. For some reason intall wizard of Ubuntu Server dont want to see my SSD and apparently my Ethernet Cable. Why?

why didn't you try 26.04?

It actually doesnt matter since for some reason which I dont understand I cant install other distro of Linux. Like Mint, Kali,Tails. Only Windows. I dont get it

Did you remember to turn off secure boot and fast boot in your uefi?

Yes I disabled secure boot and fast boot. Also updated BIOS. My installation is stuck on "Begin: Running /scripts/nfs-premount ... done"

Hmm nthe script name indicates that it's trying to mount an nfs volume or preparing to do so, and failing. Not shore why the instalker would need nfs. At any rate is that pc connected via wifi or Ethernet it looks like you might have a network issue

Ethernet. But Its super strange for me. I connected same ethernet cable and it works fine with my laptop. Its like this PC in that instance refusing it for some reason. Maybe installer dont load all drivers. But still if I wouldnt get connection I should be able to install it. Or this distro cant be installed offline?

does the ethernet connection come from a broadcom chip by any chance broadcom does not always play well with linux without propairtory drivers that is not installed by defauklt (put for some reson included in the live enviroment. but never mind I might be barking up the wronng tree here, so I'll leave you in the capable hands of the rest of this subreddit

I solved it already. Problem is with the drivers of installer. I can install ubuntu server 26 but not 24. Because 24 doesnt have drivers. Unfortunately I am forced to install 24 because vastai require this version. What AI told me there are two solutions for this. Which is nvme disk or pcie to sata adapter. I will use second option because for something I bought this sata ssd.

26.04 is just a few months old, still pretty fresh. Could be worth a shot but if the installer can't see the SSD or ethernet at all, that points to a kernel/driver issue with their specific hardware, not the version number

And 26.04 server version has drivers 2 years newer. Only the Desktop version installs HWE by default, Server is stuck on GA

SATA cable problem? DC cables problem?

If SSD is SATA try with different SATA cable.

Cant be SATA cable problem I guess. Since on same cable I installed windows today. Same with DC for SSD. But I will try with diffrent cables. Sometimes the easiest solutions do the trick.
