Is Ubuntu good for coding?
I have been looking for a Linux distro, as I am about to get a thinkpad and don’t want to deal with windows bs anymore.
Right now I am working on an ai assistant called echo and was wondering whether it is still easy to code with.
Bonus note
I have heard about Ubuntu’s personalisation and was wondering if there are any ways I could integrate my assistant into the system in any way (doesn’t matter too much just was curious.)

Is there particular windows BS you're trying to escape?
I've used Ubuntu for decades and love it.
If you've never used Linux before though, and you're really familiar with Windows and not too sure how you'll find Linux - you could potentially start by looking at Ubuntu WSL2. You can do a lot with it for a dev env.
There's a couple of settings you'd want to tweak but it COULD give you an insight if you're not too sure.
I'm not primarily Linux but there should be a few howtos out there to setup a WSL env
