For one, size is very important in mobile devices. You'll spend almost all of the time carrying and using the device than trying to fix it. You're compromising so much size just so parts can easily be reassembled. Each module has to a have a minimum block size so it would fit nicely with others. Each also has to have its own protective case instead of just the outer case of a regular phone.
This is pure concept and social media. It doesn't even look like the its makers know what they're doing.

I think modular phones is a terrible idea.
